Mostly I would be riding in over 30 over 35 but sometimes I feel like doing the 450 c. Would anyone protest me in the 450 c at local racing. Does anyone know if a 300 2t is legal in 450 classes in district racing? If a yz450 is legal I don't see a problem with a 300sx that makes less power.

What is the penalty if I get caught with a 300 2t in a 450 class in district racing?

I’m pretty sure you could race a 500 in 450c in most amateur series.

It’s generally 250 and open classes.

But regardless you’re 100% ok to race a 300sx in the 450 classes.

Amateur racing you can race cc for cc. So 250s race 250s.

In the 450 class you could have a 450 two stroke and be fine and like i said in my series it’s really an open class you could even race a 500 or 700 whatever.

Nobody would care unless you’re winning Loretta’s on it

The class description for all of the 450 classes in AMA Amateur racing are 122 cc- Open cc. If you could fit a 1000cc motor in a chassis it would be legal.

If you win C at Loretta’s on it, it’ll be claimed for sure

The real question... will they let them run in MX and Supercross?

I race my 300sx in 450b all the time, never even occurred to me I couldn’t. I’m bringing up the rear so I don’t think anyone cares.

No, pro mx and sx rules have not changed. 250cc is the cap for a two stroke in the 450 class but that rule only applies to pro sx and mx. Oddly enough in ama sectioned off-road events you can ride a 250 two stroke in the pro 250 class.

If your local series is AMA sanctioned, you’re good to go. If not, just check with the club you plan to race with. Either way, I can’t feature anyone caring if you want to put yourself at a disadvantage by racing a 300cc 2 stroke against 450s.

I have a feeling the Pro 450 class rule for 2 strokes might get bumped to 300 for 2023

Nobody will care until you win. Then someone will start to care. Years ago a kid raced ‘open’ class on a 125 and won. Was DQed because at the time rules were251 & up. He tried a 250 at the next race and was protested because it wasn’t 251cc. Moral of the story is some a$$hole won’t like getting beat and make stink.so if you might go fast in the class check with your district ref.
