My girlfriend just picked up a 2013 KTM 250 sfx which has the electric start and no kick starter. She bought the bike with a Rekluse clutch already installed and loves it. I'm worried about if we are out on a long ride, and for whatever reason, the battery craps out, would we be able to start the bike some how? I keep a battery tender on the battery when it's stored and have a spare battery when we ride that I keep in my truck, but I'm concerned if something happens when we are out on a long ride. With a Rekluse, the bike free wheels at rest even when it's in gear so I don't think it could be bump started. Is there a trick way to bump start a Rekluse or would I be screwed in this situation?

No, crank in the adjustable slave cylinder then bump start it. Then turn it back out after you get it started.

From my experience with rekluse you can not bump start them. I hated the rekluse clutch for this reason.

Haven't had a Rekluse, but have you tried holding the shifter up and letting it go to bump start it? Hard to explain, but completely ignore the real clutch, put it in 2nd, then click up like going to 3rd but hold it up. Don't let it go back down. Get going down a hill or pushed, then once you get going release the shifter. It works on most auto-clutch bikes like CRF50 etc.

EDIT: Never mind, just saw where you said it freewheels when in gear.

Silver is right. If you bring a 4mm Allen wrench, turn the adjuster until the bike won't free wheel, you would be able to bump start. The put the adjustment back where you had it and ride home.

(Knock on wood) it's rare the battery or starter crap out.
