I understand more rides are available to riders if teams can split up the costs behind running a full squad. I'm referring less to team logistics and more of a results / entertainment standpoint.
It seems like the shootouts always produce great racing. I'd be curious to see how a SX season plays out with an MX format, all 250s racing together for the full season.

Poll
Combining the 2 coast is a bad idea, IMO. It would get rid of rides/teams.
You can say yeah, but they race outdoors and they all line up together, so what's the difference. The difference is there's 40 gates to fill, not 22. Splitting up the coast allows the 250 teams to put guys on each coast filling up those "40" gates.
If you combine the coasts, the 250 teams would go down to 2-3 riders. We already see that with the 450 class.
Some of the smaller teams don't have the budget to do a full 17 round series and those teams are needed in the sport.
A lot of talent would be forced out of the sport or have to privateer it.
The only thing they need to change is revert back the rule of them counting 250 SX points towards earning a national number.
The Shop
Present scheduling has offered huge advantages to west riders in outdoor prep and rest.
Only advantage east riders get is more SX prep to use against their own riders/coast.
