Looks like the top 10 in the 250 class were going faster than 3rd in 450 class... I thought it was just the first Moto because the track was smooth but they backed it up again in the 2nd Moto. (Sorry no link) check it out though.

Like I said in another thread, the lack of depth in the 450 class is bad. The top 5 are great then after that it goes way down hill.

The main class should be 250 bike size. When everyone can wring the bike out it makes for closer racing as mistakes are what seperatates people. 450s have very few who can use the potential of the bike (I know we'll get people claiming they use all their 450 has, but pretty sure that's not true or they would be lining up for the nationals).

No the main class should not be 250s unless we still had 250 and 125 cc bikes. That doesn't even make any sense.

Hp doesn't make nearly as much difference on a rough, bumpy, hard pack tracks because the extra power doesn't get to the ground. Wait until next weekend and let's revisit.

Why? Tomac would still win, Musquin would still take second so on and so forth. It doesn't matter what CC bikes are out there. The best riders will still rise to the top at a significant rate much like they always have.

Kind of. But, some might choose a different stroke or size. Plus, all the fast guys in one class, including jmart and zacko. It would give the struggling privateer more options, to keep the bike going.

Is this not always the case? At least in Supercross it seemed to be which is why i made the point that despite there being so much focus on bikes, I’d argue performance comes down to 90% rider skill and 10% bike. How else do you explain the top 5 guys in the 250 class consistently laying down better lap times than everyone outside the top 10 in the 450 class. Again, my assertion is based mostly off the lap times I’ve studied at superclass events so not sure if the same holds true for outdoors.

Didnt Bubba used to quiet often do the same on his 125 2 stroke when he was on it?

You guys obviously have no clue what it costs to build a 250 . Unless you have a 5hr motor, there is no point in turning up.

Yes Tomac would still win, Musquin might be second but Osborne could be third on a 250. Just go open class and engine type and lets see the best racers race the best racers without the unecessary "categories". Kinda be like the MXdN every weekend.
