Going to A1 and can't wait!......Does anyone know if there will be any riders trying to qualify and race the night show on a 250 2 stroke? I thought I heard someone was but not sure if it was for the SoCal rounds.....anyone have any input?

No one in the 450 class rode a smoker.

I'd say it's extremely likely that the only two-strokes you'll see at night during the SX season will be KTMs used by the freestyle guys.

Why anyone would do that to themselves and choose to ride a slower 2 stroke bike?

Anyway, the arena's are so much cleaner now with out all the smoke from the 2 stroke bikes........ Now, if we can just get them to kill the fire works, it will be perfect.

[edit: the post I was trying to quote didnt go in correctly, but oh well.]

According to MXAs dyno, the 250SX is 49 hp box stock, and it weighs 20 lbs less than the 450SX....around 40 less than the KX450F, and 35 less than the YZ450F. Stock for stock, it isnt even 2hp slower than a CRF450. Ive been amazed at how well the thing turns as well.

Just sayin... Smile

I do agree about the excessive fireworks (especially in the indoor venues), though.

Has any mags did a test for the 250sx with the ktm 300 top end bolted on.
I know dirt rider took the 300xc and put it on a diet but I'd rather have the 250sx to start with.

The over the seas supercross had a couple in the main, and did well. I guess when the 2 stroke is updated instead of 5 year old stuff, it still runs with the handi cap bike.

Still a good possibility I will be at Indy and St. Louis and I will be racing my RM250 2-stroke, about bone stock too, No I dont expect to do any good just doing it for fun and so some people can see a 2-stroke at SX!

For what it is worth a KTM two stroke finished second at the Montreal supercross in September. Willard I believe was the rider.

I may be wrong, but wouldn't someone have to ADD weight to the 250SX to make it legal for AMA Pro racing?

We could put a base ball card in the spokes for some noise!

They may be cleaner, but they are a lot louder, too.

Over a month old but worth a read if you are a 2 stroke fan.

Too bad Sleeter looks like he is on a 450 this weekend
