I seem to remember hearing the upgraded tensioner thing around and have definitely heard some rattly orange 250's around..
I also hope we see the 2023 chassis with the 2022 250sx motor, that would still be sick without major engine changes.
The 16> on KTMs look sweet, both generations, and the 16-18 Huskys were fine looking bikes and maybe a slight step down for the 19> ones with the weird number boards, but it looks like shit's getting real weird for the Austrains from now...
edit. realised this comment is worthless without the pic

I think I've asked you this before, and you were only a bit shorter than I am. Though, I'm sure, nowhere near as 'spherical'. I'm old, and ever growing on the horizontal plane.
You know my attitude to grown ups riding on little bikes - the 'Nanna' Bear in me comes out, as I've seen so many grown ups get really, really axed on Minicycles over so many decades.
I guess you're tiny / small / petite / 'miniature'................
There's that ( funny / nasty- depends I guess) song by Randy Newman - "Short People" (go not reason......) that seems to become an ear worm each time I'm reminded of your Minicycle Fetish, you little - one assumes - b*****d.
Until recently I have been behaving myself out in the kids session...not jumping the big jumps, just riding around with the youngsters. Then I decided it was time I pushed my way to the front of the group ...all revving their engines in anticipation of their turn out on the track...gave myself a clear track and sent every jump on the first lap...only to get dragged by the boss man half way through the second lap..."" if your going to do that then you have to ride with the adults "" he said.,...so I did! Now that was some serious fun...giving 450 guys the buisness on my super mini...nothing corners like a super mini!!๐๐๐๐
Got a nice photo here ridingwith the other little kids b4 I was so rudelytold to leave!
Dylan Long asked me why Im always riding that super mini...I replied that Im only 14...he said Im the only 14 year old hes ever seen with a beer gut!
That's a dangerous game!
I was a member of Lower Mountains MCC. And, by the time I'm referring to, I'd already largely switched to Enduros. Even back in the 70s and 80s you soon realized you got a whole lot more bang for your buck in terms of riding time over doing just MX, by doing Enduros.
But, I'd still do some club MX, with my 4t /2t hybrids. I'd do the Trail Bike (rego'd) class, 250 and Open. And, often the 125s ( officials were realists, I and others, were not going to blitz anyone with our 'bigger' bikes) with my 'fire breathing ' RM/XR, or CR/XRs. The 125 races were the ones I'd finish furthest back in, as it was populated with very fast, somewhat psychotic youngsters. Lower Mountains was the biggest MX related club for many years. Shedloads of 'guns' were in the club, and so many other club riders came to our events - we were good at turning a blind eye to the then ACU's idiotic, One Rider, One Club edict. That rule, was truly archaic.
We had 2 notable 'youngsters' coming through, in the early 80s, by the names of Craig Dack and Glen Bell. And they were somewhat above the other (still, many blazingly fast) kids.
So, they took to letting those 2 ( well, mainly Dack), ride their 80s in a few races with the big bikes to give them a little bit of a challenge..... I, and a fair few others, rapidly got used to being blitzed (and, sometimes lapped) by a kid on an 80 in 6 lap race.
I think that's a pretty standard tale most of us can tell, just different names, different places.
Your note about the "14 year old with a Beer Gut":
Have you noticed - not at races, MC kids are active - but say, at the shops, how many Chubbie Kids and Teenagers there are nowadays? Good grief, we're in for torrid time in the future with regards to health. I've got a bit of ( but still not good enough) an excuse, being in my 7th decade, and on a stick / crutches, which has slowed me right down with regards to exercise, thus putting on kilos, but the 'blimp' factor among youngsters is a bloody worry, that's for sure.
