How have they not built such a bike yet? They would sell so incredibly well.

Isn't YZF the quads?

I'm first in line if they make a YZ350FX though.

Yfz is the quads. Yamaha is the only manufacturer still producing a 450 quad these days

That’s YFZ for the quads.

Yamaha officially designates the R1 as YZF-R1.

While I would LOVE for them to make a 350F just for the lighter gyro feel of the bike, truth be completely told you can de-tune the 450F with the tuner app to make it be super mellow in terms of power, of which would be damn near the same as a 350F. And their 250F's make a crapload of power for a stock 250F. Add an exhaust and play with the tuner on the 250F, and you can get the power to be a lot like what a 350F would be like - and the light feel of the 250F. Thus, Yamaha probably feels its just not needed given their tuner app. And they have a fair point.

A 350FX though, sign me up. Would be bitchin, like a camaro

Is that true? So the Suzuki and Honda don’t make their 450 race quads? Doesn’t ktm make one?

Just de-tune the 450 with your phone. You can totally do that! It works

You can’t detune a 450 to be like a 350. The 450 will never feel as light or rev as long as a 350

I was going to say the same thing. My brother has an excite bike map on his. I love it, it's so smooth. I really need to get one of those new 450s.

It's so obvious they would sell a TON of 350F and 350FX.... It's hard to reach the bean counters running the company to get them to understand what would sell. Steve Job's needs to come back and run this group at Yamaha! )

The guys wanting a 350 YZF, have you ever tried a 350 SXF/FC and a last gen 250 YZF ?

Because i had a 350 FC 19 and now have 21 250 YZF and the 250 is just that much better ! The power is clearly enough to have fun and be competitive, why would you need a 350 ? To lug on the low end power ? 350 doesn't have low end power like a 450 does, you need to ride it hard and it is really powerfull in the upper range just like a 450 that rev longer.

Well, it's my opinion but a 250 YZF with a tuned ECU, an exhaust and open aixbox is a beast nowadays so i don't see where the 350 would be needed.

350s became obsolete when 250s became so powerful. I really can’t see the attraction to a 350.

I didn’t like my 350. It was mostly the suspension, which can be fixed, but after a lot of years riding 450’s, I’m not a revver anymore. And my 350 needed to be revved. Maybe the newer ones don’t as much so, but my 15 wasn’t as much fun as I though it would be.

Yeah the sport quad market is dead as a door nail since UTV’s came along. Ktm quit making 450 quads after 09, Honda in 2014, Suzuki I think after 2011, and kawi had a very short run of the kfx450.

After just coming from a 350 to my '21 YZ250F, if Yamaha released a 350, I would probably stick with the 250F. That bike is very easy to ride and has plenty of power. You just have to shift a tad early. I sort of learned my lesson when I went away from the YZ250F for something different and now I am back on one and very happy. It'd be cool to see how Yamaha 350 power profile would be compared to how the KTM 350 power, though. I could only assume you'd get more zip off of idle, which might be a what a lot of people are looking for.

You've never been to a hare scramble have you? Half the vet lines are 350's.

Maybe so. The other half are on 450’s they cant handle. The overall winner in my series is usually on a yz250fx.

for me its not about the peak HP because my 250rx is fast enough for me. I just want a little more average power. My son just bought a 21 Honda 450RL and i think its rated around 40HP so its close to my 250 but its amazing how much better power it is then my bike. The roll on power in the low and mid is perfect. I race hare scrambles and the 450rl has (to me) the perfect power curve.

Yes KTM 350s are revvy and don’t have much low end power. And that’s exactly why we want Yamaha to make a 350 because we’re guessing they will tune it like their 250 and it will have broad power everywhere.
