I don't see the appeal at all. The current 2-stroke chassis/body is much preferable to that abomination.

People just want change for the sake of change sometimes.

I think the 10-13 yz250f chassis is a step forward and easily could have been made to happen for the 2 strokes.

If the 2-stroke was not also designed with a rearward cylinder slant and rear exit exhaust then using that frame would likely mean a fairly compromised rear airbox. Is there even room in the current 250F frame to wedge an air box in back there?

From a 2-stroke guy who rides a 2006 YZ250 and has ridden the 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2020 YZ450Fs, the standard YZ250 frame and bodywork is a far better platform for a 250 2-stroke. Why put the heart of a lion into the body of a blue pig?

Make that 4-stroke radiator/tank junction a lot slimmer and I'd be all for the new design cues, though.
