Stock OEM Yamaha plastic for the YZ’s are cheap in most cases. 2021 shrouds are $18.00.
Give it 20 years without changes they’ll get cheaper...

i'm guessing the 22 models have inlaid graphics ?

In the past when i've bought oem yamaha shrouds for YZ's, they come plain with no graphics.

Might be onto something wr74. Are OEM KTM shrouds expensive like that (with inlaid graphics)?

The side panels are still reasonable at $22

I do. Aftermarket ones don’t fit as well & the simplest of tip overs & the plastics have a nice white mark on them where they bend.

With the reasonable price that FullFloater put forward for the side panels, you'd have to hope that they've just got the shroud prices wrong. Blink

The inlaid side shrouds for a 2021 KTM 250SX is $93.00 for both shrouds at RMATVMC ($109.95msrp). Would definitely hope that was a wrong price for the Yamaha...

A heat gun or hair dryer will get rid of those white marks.

They triple check the numbers by committee in Japan and the USA. There is a left and a right indicated. There's no way that's a mistake. (Except that it's a mistake to try and sell any at that price. Laughing )

My guess: They are trying to keep the "OEM restyle kit" option priced at a premium.

My 19 450 has the inlaid graphics and at 70 hours they look awesome still. Get what you pay for and whatnot I guess.

You guys ask for major model updates and not just BNG you have to understand that service parts produced by specialized production tooling (like shrouds) are going to be significantly more expensive than the predecessor parts that have been running on the same tooling for the last 15 years.

Yamaha are using the Lexus MO. Build the same vehicle for 30yrs with minimal cosmetic changes. Yeah, motor has more flexibility, ie they used the '05 porting specs. Better suspension, ie they put in the 2012 valves back in it etc etc
Probably good to buy one anyway, they'll be collectors items like the '08 RM250 smoker.

It has already been mentioned that the Honda, Kawi, KTM, and even Yamaha 4-stroke shrouds have seen recent updates, mold in graphics, and all are like a third (or 1/6 in case of KTM) of this cost.

MSRP with the graphics is 150 which is crazy high, yet still significantly less than the YZ250
