Usually Honda is a year behind with updates on the 250. So the 22 should be all new

Yup, but I was nervous that covid might have delayed them on the 250, both because of R&D time and production / supply chain issues. It does seems like they are sticking to their typical update schedule and giving us a new 250 this year. Fingers crossed for a press release soon, and that they learned from their mistakes on the 450 (spring it and map it correctly).

I gotta think if a 22 250 revamp wasn’t coming they would have announced with the 450s.

It’s coming. If the 22 CRF250 was going to be the same bike as the 21 they would have just announced it with the 450s..

It’s still only June and I think they will have a little delay due to COVID but we’ll here something soon.

Japan and its close neighbors never had covid cases but that does not mean they did not have supply chain shortages.

Isn't it amazing that there are no LEAKS of information? In the automotive industries there are many times either intentional or un-intentional leaks, all not 100% spot on, but gives some indication. The german manufactureres are the worst, I suspect they leak info intentionally so money waiting is not going to someone else...

Think about all the suppliers, designers, warehouse workers, everyone, that not a single person gets a design drawing view that they then 'by mistake' leak to some blogger etc.

In the automotive industry no leaks usually means no happy surprises, if there is 'something worth waiting for' there usually are some rumors... if there is NOTHING worth waiting for, same old, only new colors and interior trim, there is usually very little leaked information.

I have a friend that is in Japan. He says that if there is even a tiny spike in COVID cases they shut down the country. This includes factories. I wouldn’t be surprised if they delayed the bike another year. Japan just got done with a pretty big spike in cases.

I feel like we would know something by now if it was going to be a new model.

Shouldnt it be the other way around?

When the new 450 was released last year, we knew all about it before it hit stores.

So the 450 press release was in July last year. The 250 was in June along with the play bikes. I think there is still time and Keefer has pretty much said (without officially saying) there is a new 250 coming for 2022. 450 reviews didn’t start hitting until September last year.

That is because they raced it in the MXGP. They don't do that with the 250.

Guys, I hate to say it, but if they aren’t out by now I’d guess Honda just isn’t releasing one this year. 450 only

Speaking of this, does HRC have any factory 250 guys in the MXGP's this year? I didn't see any. What happened to Vlaanderen?

May 28th, a large container/cargo ship with auto parts to USA sank leaving Japan. It was supposed to leave 10 days sooner but delays held it back. The container/cargo ship was hit by a empty tanker returning. News said the tanker went over the container ship and sunk it. 3 people are still missing last I heard ? Honda had a batch of 2002-2004 CR250 cylinders that was supposed to ship from motosport May 28 but with the shipping delay it did not ship. Now I am told maybe middle of July shipping. Really curious what all was/is on that ship. I have a feeling my cylinder was on that ship but can not find details of cargo. Wonder if new motorcycles and parts were on it ???

I heard it was Godzilla that sunk the ship.

When they made the new 450 last year the RX was updated at the same time.
