Hi everybody,

Looking at getting a kx450. My area only has 21’s right now and I am leaning to get one. I’ve seen a few people say 2022 will be all new. Should I buy the 21 or wait for the 22? Also, any ideas on what will be getting changed if it does get a new bike? Thanks everyone!

'21 is an excellent bike that has nearly universally received positive feedback. Nobody knows anything about the '22.

Since it won almost every shootout this year, I doubt they would change it much for next year. Even if they do, you’re running the risk that they’ll screw it up like Honda did in 2009.

That’s what I figured but some people seem to have insider info. Living in New England (short riding season) waiting doesn’t make much sense to me either since the positive reviews on the 21.

i would assume that the past year would push back all manufacturers R&D schedule.

The 21 is a 19. Get the 22.

Unless you want contingency money, go for the 21. Anything and everything you may want on the bike is available. All the hick ups are fixed and not really any bad reviews about it. If the 22 is new or has any major changes, it will be a first gen and generally not worth purchasing
