2021 YZ450F Turbo/w E85

Sup guys haven’t really been associated with a forum in a bit lol but I figured I’d share my project. Both, my most recent iteration as I’m currently in the midst of building a new, more refined turbo setup, and my current iteration of the turbo build regarding my 2021 YZ450F. For the most part, the bike is a bone stock engine. (However, I did convert it over to E85. I also ran it naturally aspirated on E85 when the only mod was an FmF pipe a little bit before I started the turbo build.) bare with me as I’m still gathering pics as I’m sharing this project a bit late on this forum… I’d like to note that I literally do EVERYTHING with this bike.. Dirt, Supermoto, Sand.. ect it’s literally my “beater” LOL. I also ask that you bare with the fact that placement of certain components was solely for test purposes just to prove out the proof of concept of getting the setup to successfully work. The pics listed below are of my last iteration, the intentions for the new iteration is to contain all piping within the frame rails and NOT compromise any form of riding. It is most important to me to still be able to do ANYTHING with the bike.

However I did have the opportunity to have the Bike dynoed at my local Ducati dealership that has an in-house Dyno right before A buddy and I took our bikes down to DURHAMTOWN this past December. On 6 psi with literally Zero timing/ no timing advance
(Powertuner app completely zeroed out) the bike put down 70.5hp on pump E85.
The only thing that sucks is that pull really wasn’t representative of the tune that I ran normally, it was a much softer tune up.

Just an FYI, the power tuning app set to zeros is stock, so there's plenty of timing advance on both maps.

Why the switch to E85?
Boosted engines love E85.

It runs much cooler and helps keep the temps down under load. You can also run more timing without knocking.

That turbo looks massive! No way I’d want a dirt bike to finally hit boost when I was on the face of a jump. Grinning

Who would of ever guessed that a boosted motor makes more power than a non-boosted motor. What a crazy concept, huh?

What do you do for fueling? OEM in-tank pump and a 2nd injector enough for that power level on E85?

OEM pump with a larger injector (single injector). I use a larger injector @ lower base Fuel pressure so I can stretch the stock pump out farther

Meh.. everything will be ceramic coated which will cut down in heat a ton. Plus the stock thin walled exhaust runs right next to it lol
