Does the suspension come with a basic setup like every other bike? Or is it setup for the person buying it?? Like spring rates changed and valving already setup for you???
I’ve always loved the look of the TM’s and yours is sweet!!!!!

If you order one it can have the spring rates of your choosing, along with many other options. However there is basic spring rates that TM USA gets for the bikes that aren’t pre-sold. I don’t know exactly what those rates are, but having ridden bikes with stock suspension I can say it’s really good.

My son races a 300 two stroke for Endurocross and some other races. He also has a 144 and it is the most fun bike I’ve ever ridden! It is fast and isn’t too hard to ride for a average 48 year old guy. Can’t compare it to a KTM 150 as I haven’t ridden one, but as good as the TM handles it would be hard to beat.

I’ll also add parts are no issue, I go to TM USA all the time and have seen what they have, plus the parts that we go through. They always have what we need and I know they ship out parts daily.

Our first TM was an 85, it was so far advanced than the other 85’s there was no comparison!

I’m the next couple weeks we’ll be getting a 300 4t to test and see if it’ll be what he will race next year. Have heard really good things about it and are excited to try it.

I also added a picture of what you’ll find when you pull the cylinder on a TM, this is from a TM 300 with about 50 hours.

I can only go off what my son says, as he’s the one riding hard Enduro stuff, not me. He came off Beta and says the TM is as easy to ride doing hard Enduro as the Beta, only it has a lot more on top.

Two tiny details I’d like to see improved- seat could move closer to gas cap- do away with the plastic piece , and a top clamp with rubber isolation and forward bar position option would be nice. But beautiful machines regardless
Yes all the 250 & 300’s are counter balanced.

Don’t know about forged aftermarket. We use Pro-x as a replacement piston and have had very good results with a pro rider on board.

Rubber isolation clamps are an option and I think that’s how TM orders most of them. All our bikes have had that.

We have bikes with the smaller thank as well as the optional 3.2 gallon tank. Surprisingly there isn’t much of a different feel in the two even with the shorter seat on the big tank.

Did he have a beta race edition or regular 300?

Race Editions, he was on the factory race team. The motors on the standard and race are exactly the same.

Beta’s he had where- 2013 250 standard, 2015 300 race, 2016 250 race-2016 350 4t race, 2017 300 race, 2017 350 4t race, 2018 300 race. So he was very familiar with the Beta’s.

Thanks for the responses. I’m probably buying a 21 in the spring. I had my mind made up on a Husky TX 300 but now I’m really considering trying to find a TM.

The first shipment was completely sold out, except for like one 144. However that doesn’t mean all the bikes went to customers, although I’m sure most did, it just means they all went out to dealers. Last I heard Get Dirty Dirt Bikes in SoCal had one 300 left.

More shipments are coming, though I’m sure most 300’s are all ready sold. However I’m sure you could put a order in now, get the all options you want and schedule a spring time delivery. A dealer or TM USA could tell you more about that than I can.

Yes you can still order them. My brother sells them and just got one custom built for a local offroad guy

Thanks. There’s a TM dealer about 2 hours from me. I’ll contact them after thanksgiving and see what they say.

The finishing and attention to detail inside the cases in that bottom end photo is light years ahead of any other manufacturer out there.

Are these due for an update next year? I’ve always liked the TMs and that thing is very nice!

Any word on what they may change? Would love to see these bikes get more popular. Somebody on here did an all out build on a TM a few years ago and I just remember how everything looked super high quality and well thought out. Would be interested in an fi 300 enduro two stroke.

My brother rides a 2020 MX300 4 stroke and loves it. He's a 60 year old vet rider.

The 250 & 300 2t’s got a new motor and frame in 2019. 125 & 144 in 2020 and the 250 & 300 four strokes also got new motors in 19-20. However what they didn’t get was new body work. So a 2021 for example while very much different still doesn’t look much different than say a 2017.

So word I have heard from TM is new plastics/body work.

144 for 22 will also get a new bottom end Ralf told me.

144 frame did not change in 20 (Just to clarify, I know you didn’t say it did).

A YZ is way taller than a KTM. Both are way taller than TM’s. My YZ is like 3 inches taller than my TM lol.

Nice to hear that

I have the Tm and Sherco in sight but I really like the tm and I think the kickstarter is a big plus.

Always had a thing for TM's. Used to always see a few at the Indiana enduro's. Bummer to see they went the aluminum frame route, still look bitchin' though!

TM’s are legit, everywhere! Their in house shock is amazing. The stock KYB SSS forks were much better than my Yamaha’s SSS forks from factory also
And as a $1500 extra, I’d get the stock shock, then buy an Ohlins latter (If I wanted one, and I do!!) - wouldn’t be much more than $1500?

Well, that's something!

Boano are a powerhouse in World Enduro - a Lot of Beta's success is down to Boana's set up.

TM themselves have accumulated a fair few EWC Titles, and many other National Titles, but, if things work out with this new set up, they'll gather even more.

I wonder what the Beta set up will be, going forward? Though, there's no shortage of extremely experienced Managers and Team groups that could take it on, or become directly employed by Beta.

Been on TM's since I was on 85's - I have raced the 85, 125's, 144's, 250 2t, 250 4t, 450 4t and 300 2t - Trickest bike you can buy, literally no money to spend other than suspension fiddling for comfort. The factory has no intrerest in churning out huge numbers of bikes - would be awesome to see them in an AMA pro race. Their 125 engine is possibly the best 125 2T motor you can buy and just race (in my heavily biased opinion)

How is the power delivery on the 125/144? Top end like a ktm or more low end like a Yamaha?

I'm so torn... I want one now, but if I'm spending that much money I better wait for the updated bodywork in 22

I’ve already said it multiple times in this thread (that’s where he got his info..). Straight from ralf...

New bodywork. 125/144 gets new bottom end also with E-start option.
