I have a chance to get a 21 GG450 in a week or so, and it seems like it wont be much longer and the 22 models will be out. would you get a 21 or hold out till the 22s are out.?

Hold out. I am learning about front end wallowing that might be to flexible triple clamps.

If you have a bike that is fine, holding off is the better choice because you may get a better deal on a 21 once the 22 is on the floor. Otherwise, you have a choice of either

2022 GasGas will be fall. Husky and KTM in May. If you want the GasGas I’d recommend grabbing one or anything while you can! Pretty much no rebates in this market on 2021 product.

They are selling just about every MC 450 they make, demand is high right now.

Nothing is sitting. Waiting is a gamble on whether you get one

Personally I would hold out and buy the 22. Mostly because I don’t buy odd year bikes. Thats my superstition.

I'm guessing we won't see many changes for '22 due to covid, so the '21 might be the way to go. I believe KTM will be an all new bike this year and GasGas will get revamped in '23.

Wouldn’t we have seen the new model as this years’ FE bikes if the ‘22 KTM was going to be all new?

I'm not sure you could be right but only Covid knows...we'll see.

I don’t think you will see any ktm changes this year and the factory edition will be the all new bike. It wouldn’t surprise me if the gasgas doesn’t get the big 2023 changes until 2024 either. I could also see 2023 ktm having WiFi tuning on all four strokes and maybe gasgas gets all the changes except Cnc triples and WiFi. Right now I don’t see how the gasgas is $700 cheaper. They didn’t take out that much content. Suspension settings are supposedly different on the gasgas. My ex300 fork feels way better than my 2020 300xc did. No sting when you flat land small jumps (even with the Neken bar) and soaks up small rough stuff better than the kyb on the yz250x. Doesn’t get harsh when you run lower air pressures like the 2020 either.

Life is short. Go buy the bike. If a new one with an updated frame comes out, then buy one of them.

Yeah man I dont know why but I’ve had a string of terrible luck on all my odd year bikes. No problems on even year bikes 🤷‍♂️ I dunno, just my thing

I'm an "odd year" bike myself. '87 CR250, '89 KX250. There were a lot of good odd year bikes which further added to my superstitious habit of preferring odd year bikes. I also always put my left sock on first so there's that. Hahaha

I just got a 21’ MC450. Just about zero mark down on price. Shops in CA have hardly any stock. 3BROS only had one 450 and it was the MC450. I was told end of summer before they get more 450’s. If you want one, or NEED one, I would say get it where you can find it.

Wait until the 2022s come out and then try to get a better price on a leftover 2021

My policy.....save up and pay cash. If you have the cash, buy it. If you don't, start saving and wait for the next year model. =)

The only leftovers will be at places that don’t discount and add lots of fees. A 2022 at a reasonable dealer will be the same price or less than a left over ‘21.

MX bike are not investments. They are meant for enjoyment at the time of the desire is in place. Buy what you want and then just ride and maintain it until you want something different or new. Buy now and do it again later.

There ain’t gonna be any leftovers, things are different now.

The 2022 gas gas is the same motorcycle as the 2021. If you are an expert or above, then you know what to do about the cast upper clamp flex. It is a great motorcycle.

I was trying to get one a couple months ago but there were none available near me and the Honda dealer was having a shipment in of 21 450s in a day or two so I bought one of them instead because I could not wait and wanted it then. I’m more than happy and love the bike as it was either a GasGas 450 or a Honda 450(I was leaning more toward the Honda and the lack of gasgas stock made it easier)

If you can wait a few months then it might be worth the wait even though I can’t see it being a all-new bike. If you’re like me and cannot wait, go for it while it’s available.

If you ride on public lands get the 2021, red sticker program may go away for 2022 model year bikes and leave them competition only.

I wouldn't wait! I'm very glad I picked up a 21 350. I think the supply is going to be extremely limited on 22s

You don't want a GasGas anyway.

So do you mean built in an odd year or sold in the odd year?
So, your actually an even odd, not an odd even kind of guy,?

Off topic but if most of the manufacturers stand pat for 2022, we could see one of the most anticipated 450 releases in a long time in 2023 with Kawi, Yam, KTM group, and fingers crossed hopefully Suzuki all having new models. Plus Beta joining the ranks.
