What's up guys. Finally got a new bike after selling my 2011 RMZ250 and trying to build out the Honda! With it being the same as 2020, I thought there'd be plenty of threads on top mods to really wake up the 250 but there weren't many. What have you guys done / recommend to make the 2021 even better!

Saw that! Keefer is awesome and I'm definitely going to try a few of those. I wanted the opinion of some other riders in the forum too

The cylinder works 270 kit sounds like a killer set up on the crf. Sounds like it fills in the low end and compliments the engine well without losing anywhere. I think ping did a review on one.

Head mod, vortex, and exhaust made a big difference on my buddies 20
Just one exhaust or two exhausts? Laughing

Daniel Crower has cams that are said to really put in some bottom
Vortex ECU mapped with an exhaust
Twin Air Powerflow Filter cage or No-Toil cage for no backfire screen
VP gas
If you do all those and still need more power. Get a KTM 350 or build up a YZ250F 😂

A good start is to take the black airbox inserts out, air filter mesh screen, and then a Twin Air air filter. Made a noticeable difference on my 20, you just go through more filters. Then pipes, ignition, race gas etc

I'm sure the other suggestions are great , however the 300 kit from "Checkpoint Offroad" is second to none for a power increase across the board. Before you spend any cash on exhaust or ecu's do yourself a favor and ask them about the redmoto kit. Just a very happy customer spreading the good word.

I would ride it first, see where you feel the power is lacking. Then talk to Vortex and decide on an exhaust and mapping combo.

Run VPT4 and the get twin air filter set-up. I wouldn't do anything beyond that, or else you'll be sacrificing reliability / resale.

I would also get the supercooler kit: http://www.boyesen.com/supercooler-kits-153.html and the pro-circuit catch can: https://www.procircuit.com/pro-circuit-titanium-catch-can.html

I took out the screen (always do)

What inserts are you talking about? Can you say more about this?

Thanks!

Vortex Ecu and run race gas.. will be the best gain for the buck... After that, port the head, Valve Springs, Valve Job, Good Piston of your choice.. and if you really want to spend money start going to better valves and more compression

I’m not too sure if it is the same worldwide. But In New Zealand our 250 comes with a black plastic in behind the side number boards, so there is no air flow through the side boards. Take side boards and seat off, drop tail pipes down, and from memory it was a few screws holding it in, then it drops right out. Opens up the air box a lot. It may be different overseas though, just looking at pictures of them in America and it doesn’t look like they have them as you can see right through the holes in the side boards, unless they had been taken out already. If you can see your air box through the number board holes then dont worry about it haha

My buddy sent his ‘06 crf250r to Tom Morgan back in ‘06....I believe it was a 307 that Tom put in that b!tch, holy hell did it haul ass! Tom also would call him to see how it was running and if he had any questions. Want service, go there.
