Just picked up a 2022 CRF450 and am considering ordering the Vertex Ignition from Tokyo Mods. I can't seem to find any reviews online about it and a buddy told me you will no longer be able to use the buttons on the left side of the bars anymore. any insight?

Did they not sort out the mapping for 2022? Or does it just need some more poke? Joking on the second part, genuine question in the first part 👍

So is the 2021. I suspect the 2022 map is no different.

If you go with the vortex on the 21 or 22 , you will have two map selections on the fly. One blue flash is number 1 map programmed on your vortex. Two blue flashes is the map you have the vortex dial selected to.You will also still have the traction control settings available. If you buy the vortex from Tokyo Mods you aren’t going to be getting a custom map selection.XPR and Twisted Development also sell the vortex ecu available with their own custom made maps. The custom maps are normally another $250 and much better than the standard vortex maps.Hope this helps

Have you ridden it yet? Reviews from a few guys here on Vital, say the 22's have the mapping sorted out.

I have a vortex on my 21rwe and it's a big improvement. I sent mine in to XPR (Who also did my 250). Both were great improvements compared to the stock mapping.

As mentioned above Map 1 is set to use the Map 1 (One blue blink) on the map selector. Then whatever other map you have selected on the vortex goes to Map 2 (Two blue blinks). You also have a launch control feature which is activated by the kill switch, and traction control you can select on or off by using the same traction control button on the bars.

So it's really a plug and play, use what you have type deal and integrates easy enough. I don't switch around maps often so having a map switch at the end of the day wasn't a big deal to me. But it's there if you wish to use it.

All you need is one of these, stock ignition on Honda,s are good. If you want it quicker than a cat, get a ikat.

Bro - that isn’t even remotely relevant to a 22 crf450r lol. Saying stock ignitions are good on Honda’s is a lie. Tell that to 09 450 owners 21 450 owners and even the 17-20 left a lot of room for improvement as seen from the changes vortex can make.

I Have a 22 crf450r with vortex from twisted development. Just had them remap it. Second time. I can switch maps on stalk switch an turn on launch mod now. Traction control does not work. Any advice?

I always suggest to anyone decently serious about racing to get a vortex remapped by twisted or xpr. It makes a huge difference in the power and how linear it is.
