2020 yz250f for 2020 crf250r?

Edited Date/Time 10/17/2019 4:21pm
First of Im 14, 5,6 and weigh 135. I race 250 d/c and have been riding since I was 4, but have only been racing for 1 year. I currently ride a 2015 yz125 but want to move up to a 250f because I feel little held back by the lack of power especially when racing against 250fs. I've been researching all the 250fs and have narrowed it down to the 2020 Honda crf250r or the 2020 yz250f. I also thought about the fc250 since Husqvarna pretty much made them for me but don't really like air forks. I can't test ride either of them but am leaning towards the Honda because from the shootouts everybody talks about the fun factor of riding them but the power of the yz sounds nice too. Anyways tell me your thoughts

I was able to ride all the 2020 250s. You will need springs in any bike you buy because your are 135.

Based on your size, I'd suggest the Honda because it feels slimmer then Yamaha. The Honda will have plenty of power for you.

The Husky would be really nice and comfortable at your size. It also feels thin and the suspension is valved softer then any other bike.

How much would each bike cost, that could make or break which one I'd pick. Yamaha is very very good also and might fit a shorter rider better. They all have pros and cons, not a clear choice!

This might now be the answer you're looking for but to be honest, they're both great bikes. You can pretty much pick what color you like and it would be an awesome decision, either way. But if it were me, I would go sit on both of them, close my eyes and imagine myself railing berms and pick which one feels right. That's just me though.

Also I thought in your title you meant a YZ250 as in the 2 stroke….. Because if you're coming off a YZ125 and the 250 2 stoke is legal to race in the 250f class I would TOTALLY do that!

I think I'll just have to sit on each of the bikes and hope that the ergonomics or price of one will stand out.

husqvarna valved the suspension to accommodate lighter, slower riders (like me) instead of copying Ktm having stiffer race ready suspension.

Learn how to ride your 125 faster, theyre great bikes.
yah Im hoping to keep it because its just too fun to sell but for races kinda need that extra grunt. there aren't many classes for 125s these days.
