Just purchased this bike. Can’t connect to Yamaha power tuner app. Bike is running way too rich. Not a happy camper. It’s gutless piece of shit....dealers in Alberta are no help. Are there any Yamaha gurus out there that can help a guy out??????? Very frustrating.... I’m feeling a burning party....2 stroke waaay better

There is a TSB out for that bike to get the ECU reprogrammed so it doesn't run rich any more. Contact your dealer and have them take care of it. I bought one back in April and encountered the same issues you're currently experiencing. It's a great machine once that hiccup w/ the ECU gets cleared up.

It is definitely not a 2 stroke. The dealer can fix it not wanting to start because it is too rich at cranking but it is still going to stall like a 4 stroke. Thumpertalk has a thread in the YZ250f forum about the starting issues. You cannot fix it with the app. You can probably get it to have more snap on the bottom end with the app though.

Take it back to the dealer and have them flash it with the new tune. Or send it to get tuned somewhere.

I'll take it... I'm looking for one of these. Sounds lightly used.

Wasn’t there a service bulletin for this model bike where you should take it back to the dealer if it’s running really rich?

Edit:

Sorry, skimmed over the first post that says this. Did you actually take it to the dealer?

What does it do better than the 250x ?

What does it do worse than the 250x ?

I'm considering the fx but not in a rush.

I had a 16 250X, loved it, it was bulletproof! Suspension great! But had the bug for the 250fx, so I found. A 2020, stock the suspension isn’t as good to me! But it’s ok! I did have to replace the fuel pump at 37hrs, if your use to the lighter 2t it might be an adjustment, at first I wasn’t really happy with it, but the more time I spend on it the better I like it! So I may keep it another year! Then if yamaha update the 250x bodywork like the new yz250, I may go that route!
