I arrived at Swan MX in Tyler, TX last night for the 2020 Texas Pro Challenge. 25k dollar pro purse up for grabs and it usually attracts some top 20 national talent. We have practice today and pro moto's on Saturday and Sunday at 1pm and 4pm.
Usually this race takes place shortly after the AMA national series has ended so I am curious to see who all decides to blow off the Thunder Valley National and make some money here.
I know Grant Harlen and Ryder Floyd have said they will be here. I wouldn't be surprised to see Curren Thurman here. Kyle Cunningham is usually a regular, but I'm not sure if he has been riding. Last year he chased down John Short and took the lead mid way through the second 450 moto only to have his bike put a rod through the cases and burst into flames! It was an EPIC ride and I hope to see more of that action this year. Ben Lamay usually shows up. John Short is usually a front runner at this race. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jesse Flock or Lance Kobush as they have both been here before. I guess it just depends who decides to skip Thunder Valley.
Anyway, I will be out here racing all weekend and updating this thread with Pro Challenge results and some cell phone pics!

Good luck to him at Thunder Valley!
The Shop
Pit Row
Several good battles back in the pack. Doc Smith came forward several spots and passed Alexander Vestal for 7th, but Alexander would not let Doc get away. There was nothing in it between them for about 20 minutes before Doc finally gapped him. Great racing!!!!!!
Let me say this about Walther, the kids is blazing fast! He showed serious speed today! He faded at the end of both motos but man, until he got tired he was awesome.
Oldenburg was the class of the field but it probably took him about 12 minutes to get up to Walther and pass into first. It was fun to watch him move forward!
Floyd came past everyone also, including Leblanc if I am not mistaken. He rode awesome all day and was very impressive.
Maybe Leblanc was on his 250f for this race. He didn't look tired but maybe the lack of power held him back a little bit . . . Then again it is a Star Yamaha he is on! And I forget to mention that Leblanc did have a bike issue in the 250 moto on that Star Yamaha . . . His gas cap vet hose came lose and was whipping all over the place, haha
And I guess I haven't mentioned how good Mathew Curler has looked all weekend. That kid is in shape and has some speed to go with it!!!!
Can't wait for tomorrow!!!!
However, this place is PACKED! The amateur turnout is huge!!!! There is 29 riders in my +25 "Vet Challenge" money class. There is 30 riders in my son's 65cc 7-9 class. There is 41 riders in the open C/D class. Good luck finding a parking spot out here. I literally had a car park under my trailer awning yesterday. I had the bikes out behind the trailer for the day time and that car just rolled right into spot. I can't hardly blame them though, there was nowhere else to park.
