As a product of the late ‘70’s early 80’s, I️’m bummed to see Suzuki trailing in innovation. They were at the leading edge back in those days. I️ hope they get their mojo back.

suzuki moved there whole production facility to a new location this past year. It's why the 19 250 was so slow to release. pretty obvious they wouldn't be making any bike changes.

I feel like this is completely lost in everyone’s memory. With that it’s not earth shattering that there were no changes this year. The 2019 250 is still being delivered to some places, I’m sure this wasn’t ideal for Suzuki or their number #1 plan but things happen and moving an entire plant surely isn’t logistically easy

Everyone keeps mentioning how cheap they are, but $8,999 seems really overpriced for that bike.

In 1986, I purchased an RM125. It was long in the tooth then, not very fast, and the competition had eaten up the once mighty dominance that Suzuki used to enjoy. (They were World 125 champions for a decade in the '70s-'80s and the '81-'83 RMs were the best in the business.)
In '88, it was time for another bike, but Suzuki had BNG'ed the things for so long that everyone felt like Suzuki was going to pull out of motocross. Hell, they even felt like maybe Suzuki would go out of business. (Sound familiar?)

Then the '89 came out. It was based off the RA125 Works Bike that Erik Kehoe had won the USGP on. It had stout forks, a strong motor, and very nearly won the MXA shootout (Or maybe even did?? I don't remember...). The '90 was even better and only lost because the KX underwent a massive, game-changing overhaul. By the time 1993 rolled around, Suzuki was the greatest 125 on the planet, Damon Huffman was winning everything, and everbody was wondering if Yamaha was going to go out of business instead.

All of this has happened before, and it will all happen again. Mark my words; in 5-10-15 years, some of you will be wondering if KTM is going out of business. They won't be, but their bike, (which will be phenomenally better than today's SXF bike,) will suck by way of comparison to the Suzuki, Honda and others. Or maybe it will be the Kawasaki or the Yamaha that sucks, but either way, the motocross segment is not the way any of these manufacturers measures their business health.

Pretty ignorant post. You obviously found out about your wife and I. Well in the future don’t keep her wanting more....but its difficult when you keep bringing a knife to a sword fight. My one word response for you ...”stubby”

Forget about the lack of development in their product line, what about the fact they don't even contest their own national championship? They pulled out of MXGP, MX2, All Japan Nationals, and off-road racing worldwide. They found a private team in JGR to take on their "factory" program in the US, but that's it. Their amateur program is a joke in comparison to Orange Brigade, Rockstar Husky, Team Green, Amsoil Honda and Star Yamaha. In '86 they were at least trying to compete.

Their amateur program has been revamped the last two years and a huge effort behind it with some great young riders. They are going in on the new 250 and guarantee they will have a good year at the ranch this year. there’s no secrete they were missing from the am ranks and 250 class but it’s slowly coming back. Remember Yamaha a few years ago. Couldn’t pay someone to ride the yz250f now it’s the best 250 arguably. This shit goes in waves for all brands. Look at history

suzuki make people speak about a 125 come back and doesnt add ES to their 4 strokes. meh
E start is just more junk to break and go wrong. Unless you race AMA pro, I don't see any reason to have E-start.

99% of non-pro riders (myself included) could improve their lap times by dropping some weight and getting in better shape.

Both the 250f and the 450 are awesome bikes. I work at a shop and am around all different brands all day every day. The Suzuki is only giving up the electric start to the other bikes. People get so wound up with hate on different brands......just buy what you like and ride it!!!!!

$20 bucks says you'll finish in the same position in your given race on any current 450. People bitch just to bitch. I think buying the zook and spending the extra 5g's going racing is going to have more of a posive impact on your riding than any fancy and overpriced bike ever could.
Ehhhh, id beg to differ on that. Even as a Vet 30+ class rider I can notice vast differences and run different lap times hopping from brand to brand. I rode 3 different brands at milestone this year to compare and decide my next 450. Huge differences between stock bikes and the ability to run a faster pace confidently. Most people can’t do something like that, but it is extremely valuable when making a decision. Running a couple seconds a lap faster on one brand, while being able to relax and avoid fatigue definitely changes where you’ll finish in a race.

Especially when you can walk into a Honda dealership and and get a 2018 crf450 leftover OTD for under $7500.

I’ll just put my personal exsperiance out there for comparison. I have a husky 450 and I race 450a. I useualy holeshot or get top three start on my husky and ride up there comfortably. It handles good not great but the motor is simply amazing. I don’t get tired riding it exct. Just for shits and giggles I rode my buddy’s rmz 450 for a race weekend. (He never rides it so I set it up for me. Sag levers exct) and the thing for starters is realistscly down 8-10 hp than my husky. So when I start that moto on the zook I’m in like a 10-12 place start and I have to ride my balls off to try and get back to top three. Then after the moto I’m so exhausted and the thing weighs 20+ lbs more than my husky I can barely put it on the stand. So all these people saying you can’t ride the Suzuki to it’s full potential I mean full blown hp Deff matters in the start. Especially a long up hill one. Does the Suzuki handle good and turn good yeah for sure. But it’s deffenetly lacking a lot compared to the other 5 bikes.

Damn, would it have been that hard to get a new rear shock? That thing seems to be universally hated and would have been an easy fix.

That I am surprised, that they didn’t throw a lighter spring in the 250F. But shoot the 2019 came out so late that it is basically a 19.5 anyhow they should have just made a running change and thrown the lighter springs on it, cause that was the only thing really holding it back in comparisons
ya suzuki doenst seem to get what spring rate to throw in. in the first gen 07-09 they had springs light enough for 130lb riders and now 200lbs.... they were pretty solid 10-13

Do they even have someone testing their bikes?
