For as much of a purist as I am, I was surprised how cool Detroit was in person with the triple crown event last year. Looking forward to a great season.

i think they are really missing a cool opportunity by not combining the east west showdowns with the triple crowns.

I think you're confusing Triple Crown with East/ West Showdown Smile

Just because it's a Triple Crown, doesn't mean it's East and West combined.

In fact, none of the Triple Crown races are East/ West Showdowns.

The Triple Crown championship points are only tallied for 450.

2 Triple Crown's on the West, 1 on the East.

The first East round is on 2/15 in Tampa, 3 weeks after 1/25 in Phoenix/ Glendale.

FWIW I'm glad to see Tampa back on the schedule, I thought that was a good track in 2018. Even so the driving would be a lot less if it went Dallas/Tampa/Atlanta/Daytona.

Was at Detroit. The triple crown format is something I liked a lot. I am fine with the normal format but I can see where the average joe wants to see the top 20 go at it 3 times a piece.
