Thinking about trading my 2017 KX 450 with less then 15 hours on it for a 2020. Found a dealer close to me with 2 on the floor. They are asking $7k plus tax and fees. Lady told me $ 8250.00 otd which seems quite high.
This would be a trade with cash and then have to finance the rest to walk out with it. I can figure the tax but what would set up and freight that I should expect. Was hoping to get out closer to $ 7500.00

8250 is absolutely reasonable especially in times like these. Inventory is low, dealers are not exactly sure where. 2021 will come.

I'd jump on that price. Other parts of the country have ZERO new MX bikes of any brand even available...at any price.

that sounds about right because if you don’t buy one someone else will and probably pretty quick, every dealer is almost completely sold out of all MX models, side by sides and children’s motorcycles... because of the coof

Any y’all been to your local dealer lately?

Ive never seen so much empty floor space. literally can’t keep shit in stock. Units are Rolling off the back of the truck into a pick up.

Thats a reasonable price. You would have to walk in with $7500 in 100s to make that deal and that might not even do it.

if it seems high, its because you have a trade. Guaranteed they would give you a better cash price

Does $ 500.00 seem about right for setup and freight ? I'm thinking if the can do 8k with trade and some cash then I will pull the trigger.

I got mine in March in Durant OK, 8k OTD,
A buddy of mine went to same dealer a month later the best they would do was $8400 OTD
$8200 OTD isn’t bad at all

I’m assuming based on your location you were looking at Kawasaki City. You aren’t really going to find one cheaper than Sammy. Just over 10 years ago I worked at the shop there in Grapevine. We struggled to keep up with his pricing and he would take out a 2 page ad in cycle trader showing the OTD price on every unit he sold, with tax and out of state pricing. The only way you’re going to come out cheaper is by going out of state and not paying the sales tax, but you won’t be able to do that if you’re financing and not paying cash.

Not Sammy as he will not deal with trades hardly. But as far as pricing he is great. I bought my 1st KX 250 from him in 1987.

You've got 15 hours on a 3 year old bike and you are thinking about adding debt to get a new one? That's not a bright idea. Keep the one you have and ride it, a new one isn't going to do anything for you.

Look around for a 2019. Identical bike with a bigger rebate. They are still out there. My buddy just picked one up for $7k.
And quit listening to the idiots that are saying to ask for a “cash price”. A dealer would prefer that you finance it. Trust me.

It’ll take some searching, but I know they’re out there. Where are you?

Unfortunately, it isn’t right around the corner from you, but unless it just got sold in the last day or two, Thompson’s Motorsports in Terre Haute, IN has a ‘19 in stock and wants it gone.

If you have a bike from 2017, with that few hours on it, why buy a new bike?

$8,250 out the door with tax, freight, setup, and fees sounds reasonable to me. That’s about the best price I could find out the door when I was looking last year.

Picking it up next week for 8k otd. Love my 2017 but getting to old to kick the beast.

That bike would already be long gone where I live at that price! I had to drive out of state for mine.

$8250 is cheaper than anybody has told me. The rebate is only $1000 at the moment as opposed to the usual $1500. I’ve gotten my last two KX 450s OTD for about $7250, but not this year.

Rebate on the 2019 is $1500.

In the past it’s been $1500 for the current model year around May/June in my experience.
