To get more clearance between muffler and tire so they won't rub. Especially if somebody mounts a wider tire on it.

Seems mostly to me because at the start of the slip on there is no room to offset outward so the only way to get away from the wheel is to taper it outward. Honestly didn't seem much different to stock to me.

Went with a DrD NS4 slip-on...better sound than stock, perfect fit, includes SA screen...was designed for stock map (which I like best of maps I've tried)...happy!!

Happy with my FMF. Took out that irritating raspy high RPM sound and fits like a glove.

Be thankful. I had to run washers on the back side of the mounts on my FMF to push it out so my tire would quite rubbing the decals off my FMF.

And on the husky maybe 1/4 of the exhaust is covered. Looks like crap after a while.
