2019 Yz250f oil suggestions

Edited Date/Time 1/22/2021 12:51pm
I picked up Kawasaki 10w40 full synthetic oil to run. Would this oil suffice? What do you run for oil? Suggestions welcome

Most motorcycle branded oils are good for 95% of MX bikes out there. Changing it often will reward you more than the brand of oil you choose.

As long as it is JASO MA cert'd (preferably MA2), you will be fine.

You can't put Kawasaki oil in a Yamaha

(LOL....this should be fun to watch...who's making popcorn?)

If your clutch is wore down a bit, it will slip sooner than non synthetic oil

Yamalube semi synthetic
I ride a 2 stroke, but I own too a road bike, a Yamaha Tracer 700.... It is still on guarantee and the official service puts Yamalube semi syntethic 10w40 in it.... I can't wait to get home to replace it. Brand new Yamalube semi and the engine sounds roughter, vibrates more, and the gearbox is notchier tham 5.000 km worn Motul 7100 10w40. The difference is that big.

I don't think they make a 10w40 semi-syn...This is what I use:

Right there with ya, I have ran Rotella for a long, long time and no issues. When I do top ends in my bikes they always are in spec, valves are good and no clutch issues. I will admit I am not hard on clutches though.

I use PowerT Motorex now because I won a lot of it. But it's just as good as the Belray I was using before. Go for the best you can OP and change it when the manual says.

IMO changing oil after each ride day or a few hours is extremely wasteful of both time and material. Get good oil and change it when the manual says.

Whatever you want thats JASO MA/MA2 cert. Change it every 3-10 hours. Forget about it.
