Good point.

That was a really confusing poem

Fastest by single lap times? The best after all the chips settled definitely were the three that won it all.

I think the SX Moto God's have it out for Kawasaki!

He said fastest, not best during the whole series

End of season Tomac, but definitely not beginning/later part of middle season Tomac

Exactly. Mid-season, it'd be hard to argue that Marv wasn't hands down the fastest guy out there, but unfortunately, he couldn't seem to stay out of his own way (minus his run-in with Webb).

I don't agree with Tomac being the overall fastest. He was fastest in the very end of the season but not at all fastest from the beginning to the middle.

Forkner was clearly the best in his coast. The most dominant 250 rider we've seen in awhile. Bummer for him. Sexton rode well (clearly the 2nd best rider) but there will unfortunately always be an asterisk to his title, a bit like Bogle back in the day.

Ferrandis matched AC:s wins and had multiple pole positions. Worthy winner without an asterisk in my opinion.

I agree with this. Webb had more impressive rides then tomac this season and was consistently up front when it counted. Webb earned it straight up, no luck. Ferrandis and AC were pretty close in speed all year but Ferrandis showed who’s more deserving of that title in Vegas.

The fastest guy doesn’t always win and that’s why they drop the gate. I’m pumped for the champions. It was an underdog year and was EXTREMELY refreshing.

For some reason, this comes to mind...

You can make a very good arguement that Tomac wasnt the fastest. He didnt even have the most wins.

That's only true with Forkner, he really was the fastest.

Webb was the best by far. Tomac hasn't been consistently the fastest. Only in like 1/3 of the races he was the fastest. That's not enough...

Ferrandis lost a bunch of points because his bike expired in San Diego. He was pretty similar in speed with AC, most times it came down to AC's better starts

In Haiku form:

The three fast riders
Eli, austin, and Adam
Close but no cigar

Any time tomac and Webb were right behind each other Tomac beat Webb. Webb only beat tomac when tomac started way back

the new normal is "fastest" doesn't mean much............almost fastest, as in podiums, wins the big check.........Webb got I think 14 podiums and 7 wins?? Dungey rewrote the rules. Forkner proved checkers or wreckers definitely not the way to go. Interesting outdoors coming up. 24 mains coming up!!!whistling whistling

Tomac is/was second fastest. the end.

His last title yes. Other than that the myth continues.

Hey, I love Dunge. Great guy and tremendous rider. He went on camera several times and said that "the fastest rider doesn't always win titles". His point was about consistency and not riding over the edge to the point where you crash and get hurt. It's a 100% valid point. We like people like Tomac and Stew for the insanely crazy things they can do and did on a dirt bike. But the truth is, when you push the envelop that hard, sometimes you get hurt. Risk versus reward.

There is no reward for fastest. Means nothing. All that matters is the points. Webb, Sexton and Fernandis were the best riders this year. That is all that matters.

|

The guy with the most wins won the 450 title. I would argue he was the fastest guy.

Kawi management has to be a bit devo about it. You'd think they'd be trying like hell to come back with the exact same teams with a vengance for next year.
