Some exciting bike launches coming up this year. Going to be a great time to be in the market for a new or left over bike.

New KTM SXF line, (and husky line), 450, 350, 250, etc etc
(2 strokes?)

New KX450F with Spring Forks and Electric Start
Updated KX250F possible rumor of ditching the SFF in favor of spring forks

New YZ250F with electric start
(pray for updated 2 strokes)

New RMZ250?
(hopefully fix the nagging issues on the new 450, new engine in 19 or 20)

Continued improvements on CRF line. (hopefully more bottom end out of the 250 in 19 as thats been the only major critique of the 18)

New SXF and XCF line for KTM

New FC And FX line for Husky

New RM-Z250...mostly the updates the 450 got, minor engine updates...new suspension

New KX450F...engine, electric start, bodywork, chassis etc

KX250F will be in it’s final year under current gen for ‘19, I could see Kawi leaving it alone like they did with the 450 since there will be a new gen the following year.

New YZ250F, mostly based on what the 450 had done this year.

I’d expect the CRF250R to get some engine tweaks and I think the 450 might get a decent Mid-generation update.

I think YZ65 will be a late ‘18, updated YZ85 would be a ‘19 if I had to guess.

Wonder if I should just wait on getting 18 husky 350 until 19 shows up

I don’t see any comments on a Suzuki 2 stroke...or two...?

Just wait a few more hours and someone will chime in with the Everts rumor.

the 350 is supposed to have a new engine? power down lower so you dont have to rev the crap out of it. Could be a game changer if true. Seriously, moving the powerband down will wake up the 350 and make it be the bike we all wanted years ago. we will see

Yeah that would be a great all around bike. I would probably buy one as well.

I got an indication from a fairly good source that there will be new 2 strokes for the 2019 line up. That could be wrong though, maybe delayed to 2020?

ML, have you heard anything remarkable about the ‘19 KX450F beyond what you’ve stated? I’ve heard it will be revolutionary and not just evolutionary.

SX’s should get the new chassis and bodywork for ‘19.

I hope. If Kawasaki builds a 450 similar to the Austrians, my garage will be all green again.

Bigfoot,

That made me laugh, But most of the Vital Members are to young to know that Maico got rid of the Primary Chains in 1983.

Just a little history lesson for the youngsters!

Somebody with more engineering experience than me once told me that one of the reasons the Maico cornered so well was due to the crankshaft, primary chain and clutch all rotating in the same direction. Apparently, all that steel rotating in the same direction kept the front wheel planted better than having the crankshaft and clutch rotating opposite each other.

IMO the current gen has plenty of power/torque down low AND can carry a gear forever! The older generation were weak. I recently jumped on a new one and was very surprised. I had written them off based on a ‘12 I rode ages ago. But, yeah, ‘19 350 due for some updates, be even better, but the current power delivery is magic.

God I sure as hell hope not. There'd be less green in my garage.

I think Keefer mentioned that KTMs will be here in June or July? KTM is usually the first one out with the new bikes.

I think KTMs are always released at the same time in EU and US.

The 2016 bikes were launched 4.6.2015 so i would imagine that the 2019 bikes will have their launch in June or July this year.
