Have any of you guys tried any gearing changes on your 2019 KX450?
If so, how did you like it.
I was thinking about adding one tooth to the rear as I find myself in 2nd gear in turns often. On my 2016 KTM 450FE I went up one tooth on the rear and it was perfect.
I'm waiting on my FMF full exhaust thinking it may change the bottom end to use 3rd more in corners without a rear sprocket change.
Tks

Funny, I was just talking to a buddy about this but I want to go the other way. I'm thinking of dropping a tooth on the rear. I find that I need to grab another gear right at the end of the straight, right before braking hard and downshifting again, so I'd like to stretch them out a little. If I have to use 2nd sometimes, I'm fine with that.

I like stock gearing, I use 3rd gear even in the tight stuff and it pulls it no problem with black coupler, but I need to try green again to see about the bit more snap it gives.

Update: 49 tooth sprocket works badass on fast tracks, but sucks on tight tracks.

Please hold your applause

I got tired of waiting on an FMF so I went with a full system from P C.
I was using the black coupler with stock exhaust. With the PC system I like the green coupler better.
3rd seems to pull hard in tight cone s on bottom end now and still pulls up top.
I called PC and they said for motocross to pull out the resonator cone.

Has anyone changed their clutch plates/fibers out?
If so, was there any added steps or precautions to consider? Also, did you remove the judder plates? Please provide details.

I did this. It's very easy but I have not ridden with the bike since the change. You pull out the 2 judder springs and one thin fiber disk. Replace the three items with a standard disk. I also went with Pro Circuit stiffer clutch springs but went back to stock (I'm recovering from a dislocated wrist so I wanted to keep the lever pull as easy as possible. The change to stiffer springs was too much of a change at the lever).

I have a full Hinson kit arriving today so i'm not sure if I will ever get the chance to ride with this change.
