I'm surprised I'm having to ask for help on this one. I'm looking to buy a CP-Carrillo piston kit for my 2019 KTM 450 SX-F. I've tried the usual suspects like RM and Motosport but they don't offer a CP kit. I can't find one anywhere.
I want to run the OEM supplied CP piston as I currently have 223 hours on my original top end and worry I'm pushing it. Runs great but I typically change the OEM piston out on my KTM 450's at 200 hours.
Before I get flamed I've always gotten 200+ hours out of my previous KTM 450's without any problem and the pistons looked fine when replaced at this point. I've had a 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017 and now a 2019 all with 200 hours on the original top end. Granted, I'm an intermediate Vet rider but my son also gets 200 hours out of his KTM 450's and he's an mid paced intermediate rider.
I digress as I'm trying to avoid the negative responses I'm thinking I'll get for running the OEM piston so many hours but service life has proven effective at 200+ hours with over 1,000 run hours of data supporting my decision.
I'm looking for a place to buy a CP-Carrillo kit as they come as OEM equipment without paying the OEM price. Can somebody tell me where I can buy one? Maybe even a part number if you have it handy. I can't even get a part number from the CP-Carrillo website as they don't list one for a 2019 450 SX-F. Their website only lists one for a 2019 250 SX-F. I know they make them as they are the OEM provided piston.
I'm aware of other manufacturers offering piston kits for my bike but am only interested in the CP-Carrillo kit as I've had such amazing service life from them as the OEM provided piston. Hell, I'm having such a hard time finding one I wonder if they don't offer one as an aftermarket part/kit...
Thanks.
Rick

I did top ends on every jap bike I’ve owned before 60 hours, because i waited too long once…
The KTM motors are extremely durable, IMO
The Shop
European website I ordered an Oem piston kit for my 350, saving 100-200 over anywhere in the states. Shipping was fairly cheap and fast
