A little early to speculate but this is Vital and I know you’re all bored Wink

If he wins this thing, I consider the number rightfully earned. I understand the 21 as an entity just as much as the 7, if I was him I’d take the number. You guys ready to let go?

If he wins the title he'll run the 1 in SX but I don't see him switching to a single digit number. 21 it is.

Or if he switches, I could easily see him picking #8 or #9 instead. AMA will probably reserve #7 for another season or two. You know, for James' mighty comeback. Whistling

I would think he picks 5 because I’m sure he learned a lot from Dunge...

He's got (7) 450 SX wins right now in his career. So let's call him JA7 this weekend.... maybe JA8 next weekend, JA9's a real possibility later in the season too!

I thought single digit numbers were for 250 outdoor champions? Every guy out there this year with a single digit got it from that so I think the prestige of it isn’t all that much. Eli is the only 450 champion with a single digit at the moment but, again, he got his number from the 250 class. I think Anderson will keep 21 similar to Kenny keeping 94.

He should take it! Just to make statement.

Jason, Marv and Eli are the stars of the sport for the foreseeable future. ( I'd include K Roc but I honestly don't know that he'll ever be back to his 2017 self...)

The Rickys, Ryan's, James, and Windhams are past stars - their numbers SHOULD go to the future stars ( as some already have )

TAKE # 7 JASON!!!

He might not want that number though.

2019 please stop calling riders by their initial and number. It's fucking annoying.

If he takes 7 he will be hated by many for killing the Stewart legacy and not keeping the great hope alive for his beeg return to the top.

This is really only because the Ryan's dominated the 450 championships for so many years that guys were not able to earn a single digit number because nobody else was winning a championship in that class.

The #7 is not available. Zero points needed to keep it obviously.

The permanent number system works. Just ask those on this board. Many do not have enough brain cells to learn and remember riders numbers based on prior year results.
