No replacement for displacement. Got to get the husky. /s

Both are awesome bikes I would go with the closer dealer.

The local shop sells both...that's why I'm debating either one. I'm leaning toward the Husky due to the linkage and also so I can customize the look without being stuck with Orange, but I'm open to both bikes at the moment.

Desert riding- either bike will perform well. The linkage is a non issue with me, my KTM EXC 500 handles extremely well with PDS. It’s also an advantage in the woods with more clearance for logs/ rocks, etc.
The Husky is a great bike and you really can’t go wrong with either bike. I personally like the KTM plastics much better, but that’s only my personal choice. I own other KTM’s as well, so there that too....

Local street riding- neither bike worked well on the street with nobby tires, they just don’t...

Dumb question - do you have to run those tall mirrors on the street in order to be legal or could you have some tiny ones mounted down by the bars? I don't think they are required, but let me know if it's like one of those front license plate requirements on a car in CA.

As mentioned, linkage or no linkage. My ktm rides awesome and I dont have kit suspension.

You like the quality of the plastics better or just the look of the plastics better?

Anyone running a rekluse clutch and different gearing like this build?

I like the shape/ looks of the KTM plastics better. I’m sure plenty of people feel the same about the Husky ??
I happen to like the KTM orange myself, but having white (Husky) plastics opens the door for graphic design/ colors. All personal preferences

The Hooska has the link and a different shock.

I ripped a start from Egypt and I was happy about that.

I think the husky is the better looking bike and I got a garage full of orange bikes. I do love my 2014 500exc. I'll never sell this bike. I run 14/48 on mine. Its a pretty good compromise for off/road vs top speed.

I had the ‘14, before I bought the new one.
If you haven’t ridden the new frame 500 and don’t want to spend any money, I’d advise you to stay off the newer framed bike.
I’ve had the ‘07 EXC 525, ‘09 EXC 530, the ‘14 and now the ‘17 EXC 500 and each bike has made pretty big changes in the right direction. I love my ‘17, it’s a great bike !!

14/50 for the riding I do on this bike is the best combo for me.
