2019 Crf250r

Edited Date/Time 11/25/2018 6:08pm
Alright so looking to do modification to my new 2019 crf250r over the winter before next season with the upgrades of a high compression piston, along with cams and a full pro circuit exhaust system and power flow kit would this be allowed in the AMA? And also do you guys know any company’s that sell these parts for the bike? Every company I find that manufactures cams only goes to 2017

DCR has cams for that engine. Pro Circuit/JE has a piston for it.

That engine work should be allowed in all classes except the "Limited" classes

I listened to the podcast. Doesn't seem like Keefer thought the gains were worth the money and race gas etc, unleas your racing?

Yeah, he was talking about minimal gains from HC piston forcing you to use race fuel. The power of the bike itself sounded pretty darn solid. Lack of bottom, but more power than a YZ in Mid and around the same or maybe a little better than KTM up top. The chassis also sounds like a dream for handling and cornering with a free wheeling motor... this bike should be pretty darn nice!

Going by Keefer’s podcast I would pick the Honda for myself. I’ve had Honda’s in the past and a Yamaha now. The yz motor is insane but to me handling and chassis feel are what make me ride better/faster.

Yep. The handling / turning of a chassis is the key to a superb mx bike. The engine can always be tuned to go faster..

I finally got a chance to ride a 18 a couple weeks ago and I thought the chassis and suspension was sweet, it cornered like a dream and It definitely cornered better then my 14. The motor was soft on the bottom but it pulled pretty strong in the revs. Glad to hear the 19 got a little more power down low and even more mid and top according to the podcast. I still think with that large bore and short stroke it will be really hard to get a lot of bottom end out it, besides 250f's are really not made to ride that low in the rev range anyway even though it is nice to have it when you need it.

All I know is my 19 yz250f handles waaaaay better than my 14 did. So that lil crf must be special. Will see how the shootouts go.

I have a '19 yz250f and I came off a '18 crf and I actually like the yzf better. Turns just as good to me and more forgiving.
