2019 450 OTD Prices

2/22/2019 12:34pm
Ive been holding off pulling the trigger on a 19 kx450, because I waiting for the next price drop. Locally they went from $7999 plus tax&fees to $7699 plus tax&fees after the new year or whenever the new finance promo went into affect. Of corse when you ask the dealer if he knows when the next price drop will be or how much it might be, they play dumb because they want you to buy right now. I have a feeling the next price drop might only put them to $7199. Kawasaki's current promo's run out at the end of march. Id like to get the bike sooner than later, so that i can start setting it up for spring and send out the suspension

Wheels in motion in chatsworth,CA quoted me 9500 OTD for a 19 KX450. They also said 9500 for the 19 YZ450F and 8500 for the 18. They have “no ADM fees” or whatever tf that means.
They are actually really easy to deal with. Not my go to shop, but they were the only ones with a PW50 locally and they gave me an OTD price so we picked it up two days later. We usually deal with Simi Valley Cycles for everything Yamaha and Suzuki related, but Wheels In Motion had great customer service!

To be fair, they don't actually know when rebates are going to be released or how much the rebates will be. They know a range of when they typically release new promotions but dealers don't know the amount. I always hated when people asked me that because I didn't really know. Then they thought I was some kind of asshole because they had assumptions just the same as you. And of course they want you to buy now, you don't get much of a paycheck after unloading bikes at invoice.

Ill be selling my `19 in alabama for 7500 in a few weeks. It only has 5 hours on it now, will probably have 10-15 by the time I sell it. All stock with suspension done. Figured I would at least let you know if you wanted to wait a bit and save 1200! Could probably even have the suspension done for you as well which would also save 600 or so.

Yea Hugo the dude I talked to was pretty cool. It was over the phone but he seemed pretty stand up. Wasn’t just trying to get me in to force a sale on me and was honest about the value for a trade in. If you’re in the LA area and interested in a new bike ask for him. I’d like to see him make a sale since I decided not to pull the trigger.

Dealers are Intentionally not informed of future rebates so that they do not influence customers to Hold off for what’s coming. They know maybe a day before you do. Kawasaki is pretty predictable with tbejr incentives, but the dealer doesn’t owe you a dime to tell you to hold off and wait a week to get another 500$ off a bike when you’re penny pinching so they don’t make a dime on the sale to begin with.

Yea that’s what there saying they are then you talk to them and it jumps up sky high everytime, if you can even get them to give you a price over the phone without them wanting you to come in

I won’t go through chaperral anymore they got me on a bike also never again. When my cousin was calling around for 18 there was several that wanted 8900 and up, he told them what he was quoted before and they would say there just trying to get you in there and that 8900 was a good deal

So a saleman needs to give a customer a heads up before purchasing inside information on when the next price drop will be....... now that is a first.

I’m in the sales/manufacturing industry.... after reading this topic..... Thank God I’m not in the dirt bike selling industry!
