Modern 4 strokes are way more reliable and cost effective than 2 strokes ever were. Saying this, i own both 2 and 4 stroke motorcycles. Suzuki still has a bad rap from bikes of the mid 90's. Its ashamed people have a certain perception of this brand. I buy and have owned a lot of bikes. Suzuki's reliability can rival that of a Yamaha, and i wish this topic was brought up more often.
Buy this bike and save beaucoup $$$$$$$$$
Buy this bike and get 0% financing for 60 months
Buy this bike and love this bike.
Change oil and clean air filters is all you need.
Bike is a blank slate. Upgrades( like suspension) is a-la-carte!!!
I don't know, my 98 cr250 has over 100 hours on it since the last rebuild and I finally had to change the spark plug cause the center electrode was almost gone.

I read team greens thread and now I'm sold, but I just realized I didn't have my Yamaha titled in my name and I plan on trading it in. Now I have to wait 4 weeks for slow state of Illinois to get me a title!! Damn! I'm fired up to get a new bike!

You should be able to get a Smoking Deal on an ‘18!

Let me know if you have a hard time finding one.

Ride Engineering had a REALLY tricked out one on their site for sale. Was a test mule for all their aftermarket parts. Not sure if still available. But between that test bike and TeamGreens(Manny?), I'm sure they would be your best resources for what worked as far as mods go.

Ride made a link for the RMZ & I’ve heard only EXCELLENT comments about it.

I used the stock link with a Factory Connection revalved (totally revamped) shock and accomplished what I wanted w/the stock link. I also run the forks up in the clamps as much as 10mm depending on the track conditions (FC did the forks, too).

As I read this thread...I’m thinking I need to build a ‘19 & try some different set-ups...like an IMS tank (coming soon) and an 18” rear wheel...& I’ll go race an AMA Hare Scramble!

It should answer your dependability questions.
Enjoyed that thread. Certainly helped in my buying decision. Speaking of dependability, how many hours did you get out of those stock grips? Wink

Anyone know anything about putting a wp shock on there? Looking at buying a used with very low hours and the owner says he put a wp shock on the rear with showa internals?
