Just to be clear when you set the tps voltage at .6 to .64 volts DC. This is done when you have idle backed out to where the voltage will not go any lower, which was .4 on this particular bike. After turning the idle back up we got a voltage of .73 volts dc.

Yes the idle has to be backed out but I'm pretty sure the newer bikes have a lower setting than 64

Thank you for responding so quick. We set it at .6 volts and it seems to be working great.

These bike are known to be set too lean at the factory.

My 18.5 450 FE was only .49 from the factory. Now set at .64. I did add a Vortex later but left the TPS alone at .64.

Exactly where I ended up with my18 FE450 as well. This is a MUST do to get the best possible performance out of it too.

Sounds good. I set the tps on my 18' 450 fe in August with great results. I just got around to doing this on my riding buddies 18' fe. He likes to make sure everything is done properly.

You can also buy the TPS tool that is tied in with a multimeter. I already had a good multi-meter but it would make a fine addition to your toolbox if you don't.

blaze beat me to it. Think I got mine off amazon from the same dude

I need to do mine again. I didn't realize you had to back the idle all the way out first. It doesn't pop on decel anymore which is good.

I didn't know you had to back the idle out either? I'm going to re-adjust mine that way. I believe I adjusted mine off a You Tube clip and it didn't show backing your idle down or maybe I missed that?

This is my first KTM so the TPS was new to me. But not new to me when coming to trucks. My 2002 Ford Powerstroke would eat TPS's so I always kept a spare with me.

The older style trottle bodies you didn't have to.

So just got into the tps game, my bike stock when I plugged my meter in was .51. So turn the idle screw down until readings stop going down then turn tps sensor up to 0.6 and then adjust idle back to 2200 rpm? Am I missing anything? Also for reference I’ve been looking through my service book to find the stock numbers for the tps setting and I cannot find them. From my research guys are saying that they are .4 from factory, I’ve got a 2018 ktm FE 450 anyone know?

How did you go with this mate? I have a 350 and checked the TPS voltage which was .44, I adjusted it to .64 and am now getting decel pop, it was also hard to start cold. I am going to change it back to .44
