And that YZ65 is built better than the YZ85. Must more race focused design, The suspension, swingarm, subframe, etc.

Comparing the YZ's price point to a used bike is, well, strange. You can find used KTM/Husky for 2 grand as well.
Looking at the kx65, I don't think $900 would bring it up to the level of the yz or sx.
There is no point comparing new prices to second hand prices. I thought I would save some money on my son's ktm 50. Paid $1900 second hand. I noticed the kick starter wasn't returning properly the other day so I took it to my mechanic. He calls me and tells me all the gears in around the kick starter have been wearing on eachother abs one has lost a tooth because the last guy that put it together stuffed up. He looked after me on labor and I was still out $1000. Now I'm over 3 grand into this thing, not counting my time either working on it or taking it to the mechanic, with other stuff that needed replacing and a brand new 50 was 4 grand.
I think yamaha will sell a heap of these things, I'm gonna be in line this Christmas as the daughter steps up from the 50
Yes the KX can be made better. Even after adding a pipe, reeds, torque spacer, changing the gearing, and nearly $1000 in suspension mods, it's still not as good as a bone stock KTM.
Team Green has given up on the bike. I think there was only 1 KX65 at Loretta's last year. The starting gate was solid orange and white. If we had another year on the 65, we would be going KTM or Yamaha. He's moving to an 85 ASAP though.
The YZ is going to be big in the racing world. For the casual weekend warriors, no it's probably not worth spending the additional money on.
1.When will the PW 50 change.
2. In what year will they change the YZ 65. 2045????
3. Why no rear linkage on the 65.
4.When will Yamaha make a 450 street legal bike. ALA -KTM 500exc.
5. Honda 65?????
My dad took a gamble and bought me a new -04 cr85 as a last attempt to keep me riding, i guess it worked
The bikes that you and I spend STUPID money on DON’T have linkage.
So, don’t let that get out!
Pit Row
Significantly cheaper hear in OZ than the Kato/husky.
I know what I'd get if it was here a year ago..Blue
Buy a used KX65 and throw some upside down forks on it. My buddy just did it for his sons 65. I think it was about $1,300 for the front end setup and the rear shock too.
Just because you can’t afford it or your child is not fast enough to use it to its full potential, doesn’t mean there is not a market for it at that price point.
Yes some people can’t afford it and others just like to think there beating the system. One poster said he was very interested in getting the bike but cant justify the price so he so instead he will get a $700 bike. Now you gotta ask yourself were you really interested in the bike or were you hoping for an unrealistic miracle like a lot of people seem to be thinking.
This bike has been in development for 4 years so it ain’t going to come out dirt cheap and pricing it cheaper right off the bat better than the KTM/Husky.
Now i hope old mate gets a good bike for $700 as that’s the good thing about the sport you can get a priced bike for your requirements / talents.
motocrosser is not reasonable nor desired.
