from Thumpertalk:

I've talked to a Suzuki dealer in Sweden. Information about the production 2018 RMZ450 will be officially released next week.

The first bikes will be shipped from Japan to Europe now beginning of June. It normally takes around 45 days to get them here. They will probably be here for sale at end of august.

Some bikes will be here earlier for dealers to have tryout days.

Here in Sweden there will be tryout days around mid/end of July

Is it still the same old engine design? Looks identical!

That rear fender seems to be facing upwards compared to the top of the seat, like when you crash doing a wheelie or something

The coolant flanges are in different places on the head it seems. Probably more than you think.

I read that it was the same engine, if that's the case it won't be competitive weight wise.

I'm curious when riding season ends in Sweden.

I wonder if Suzuki is going to try to get that thing homologated for the end of the US nationals, seems like the earlier the better.

I will be super happy if it's the same engine, so tame and melllow, never wears you out. The current bike only feels heavy on the stand. Can't wait

Would be happy with the same motor as well, sure its not the fastest, but damn its nice to ride and easy to hold onto once your a few laps deep into a moto.

2012 KX450 is still my fav engine, but only when fresh for the first few laps.

But it will be race wise. What's your point?

Looking forward to the write-up from JT$ on his testing experience in Japan.
Even more interested to see what the production model looks like because it likely won't resemble this blue color scheme found on the works bikes.
