Cool tracks. First I thought Logistical it was a joke, but from how I see it they build the calendar pretty well. From Argentina to spain (3 week break?). Spain will be awesome. Then: Russia > Latvia > Germany is a pretty good thing. But mid July they suddenly go to Indonesia? Is it because of the rain season or something? And no Qatar anymore? And since when is Imola on the list?

Imola was announced last weekend. Three GP's in Italy, I think two will do just fine. And I thought San Marino was pushed to 2018 anyway.

Seems like they would have done the USGP following the Argentinia GP, then travel back to Europe. I also see that craphole track in Mexico is still on the calender.

they should do Florida earlier in the year.

90 with 90% humidity is hot as hell.

Finally no odd races in Qatar, Indonesia and Thailand. Calendar looks great. Who gets the MXdN?

The MXdN is wayyyyyy late. Oct 7?

Even if it actually ends up in America, can't pick a rider that is switching teams, because they will be out of contract on Oct 1 and have a couple days on a new bike. And anyone that expects to ro challenge for the win at Monster Cup the following weekend probably will bow out too.

Bit disappointed in Indonesia being separated from Argentina - this year my GF stumped up for a 'here, there and everywhere' trip to both. She used a shedload of her frequent flyers and dipped into her piggy bank for that.....

Palembang is on for sure (in terms of us going - you never know when things will get shuffled around a year in advance), but it appears the missus will not be able to get a house on the beach this time, poor thing.Just a muddy, tropical river. But. it's my birthday at about that time, and she has to give me a good present! There's an international airport there, so one or perhaps 2 less flights than this year

I'm torn between going to the USGP at Gatorback and then Mexico (and the missus looked at that schedule and had a light in her eye - she loves Mexico) , or doing a 'long way to it' trip going left to Assen, Imola then the MXDN. Big bucks, either way. Though, with The Netherlands and Italy, I might be able to get she who must be obeyed interested - and she's got that bloody big piggy bank that I love to take some change from! I've stumped up for her for many years, so I've no problem with being a kept man, from time to time, now.

To be fair. Any rider that is switching teams has not been able to ride the MXdN even if it's at the end of September, and if you choose to not ride for your country in a MXdN on home soil because of the Monster Cup, then you don't deserve to be picked ever again IMO. I have no idea why they don't have the Monster Cup first week of November or even December anyway. Having basically a pre-season race 3 months before the season is absurd

Interesting to have Indonesia in the middle of the season. I guess they have polled the teams if it's okay to have 3 fly away trips, I understand it's quite an effort for the teams to put everything together for those trips. Also from a logistical standpoint it's weird that there's a weekend off between Russia and Latvia. Red Sands will be awesome, and Imola will be interesting. Other than that it's pretty much what we're used to see.

I thought Gatorback was going to be the location for the 2018 MXdN? GP this year, MXdN next? What changed?

The best thing is that the season starts in Argentina. Finally a really, really good track as round 1!

No. Gatorback was never supposed to be MXdN. Strong rumour is Red Bud for MXdN

Ah OK, my bad. Crossed wires somewhere down the line.

Fingers crossed i'll be there wherever it ends up, then MEC in the same month if the cards fall nicely.

Right there with you, can't wait to go to Gatorback this year! Its either going to be in the 90's with damn near 100% humidity or it's going to rain like hell! Does anyone know why there isn't any ticket info for GBack on the MXGP website or is there another site for ticket info?

Nice to see they mixed in the overseas GP's, in stead of doing them all at once in the beginning.

Hopefully the point race will not be pretty well settled by the USGP so the US crowd can see some effort in the racing rather than the mediocre riding of just being safe and going thru the motion at the end of the season

Not looking too good for that scenario but I disagree with your going through the motions comment. These guys are competitors . You think they enjoyed getting punked by Tomac like they did last year ?

I'm not gonna miss Qatar, really. I suspect the sheiks didn't wanna write another check.

I don't know much about the Indonesian monsoon, but I'm guessing they think they'll have a better shot at dry(er) weather in July. But, my god, how hot will it be?

Distance between Orlyonok and Kegums is about 2,300km. Give the mechanics some time to prep the bikes properly, will you? Laughing

Wash the bikes, load them up and unload them on friday before the technical inspection. What's the problem? Whistling

I just doubted that the teams would like to travel back and fort between two races that are quite far away, and Kegums is basically on the way home from Russia.
