What jetting did you end up with on the Keihin?
I'd like to know this too , for a good starting point. I'm waiting to hear back from the JD jetting guys , and I think I'm picking up the Keihin for my Husky 125. The Mikuni makes good power for sure , but you have to have it tuned perfectly. It seems even at a 10 - 15 degree difference and it's time to re-jet again. Starts to get old after a while. The Keihin on my RM 250 is just stupid simple.

I always run sunoco 110 in my 17 250sx, they were out last time I was at the petro store so I got some c12. It def packs more punch than 110.
Thanks Bruce and Urban......I think after I burn through this next 8 gallons or so I have left of the VP 110 , I'll be trying some C12.

What parts are required to switch to a Keihin?

My understanding is it needs at least a new throttle cable & assembly?

The Mikuni was used on the Japanese 125's forever...and they never got a bad reputation. In fact, it is still on the YZ125 and no one ever complains. I have never had any issues tuning a Mikuni.

Think you boys are buying into the internet rumors too much, and need to buy some brass...

Agreed. I have an 03 CR250 with the dreaded TMX carb. It took some research and time to get it dialed it, but it's money now. Everyone talks about how you're constantly having to change jets, I never touch them. I adjust the air screw as the temperature changes and that's it. I'm also running it on 100 octane leaded fuel, that helped a lot.

Hey guys, so I use this JD jetting setting from 0-3000ft at 1.25-1.50 turns out on the air screw:

2016 KTM 125
FMF Fatty Pipe
Shorty Silencer
50/50 VP C12(40:1) and 91pump(60:1) race days I’ll replace the 91pump with VP T4E.

I also heard that the 2018 SX 150 had some issue yes, jettings had to be changed completely.
Regarding having good performance,
VHM do some great parts for the 2016/2018 and you have the dyno numbers on youtube :
(they run HGS combo)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llJ5jtf07BA
43,5 HP with VHM cylinder head and hgs combo.

Depends on the dyno don't forget... any dyno hp claim is useless without the stock bike run on the same dyno for reference

VHM are European and world champion, i don't question their dyno results.
You have in the video what make the stock motor with hgs combo, its 41...bone Stock,it must be 40 (almost like previous motor).
with a 58mm piston, it's difficult to have top end, and stock vertex 2 rings pistons are pretty heavy.
On my 2015 I was running the ktm head for sand tracks, I also have tried single ring piston,
But there was a decrease in torque.
Most of the riders in emx 125 runs the mikuni carb,
You have different gas in USA, may-be its the main reason it needs more accurate jettings.

Yeah, it's cool they are still doing work on smokers. Looks like they got 1.5hp at peak and 1-2hp up the curve which is what we are seeing elsewhere with pipe and head mods.

Hgs pipe looses power vs stock. Fatty beats stock

Sx 150 just had a ful engine tune, cylinder porting work, crank balanced, crankcase volume altered, cylinder head machined and air box mods.
Hoping to try it this weekend if the weather allows here in the uk.
