2018 HONDA CRF CLUTCH RECALL

Is this just for the 250r? I thought the 250r and 450r used the same clutch with the judder spring. Anyone have any more info on the recall?

Replacement baskets on backorder. A lot of people are steamed. Sales of any new 250's have been put on hold at the local dealership. My buddy went rekluse as well.

Throw it in the garbage where it belongs.
Replace it with a standard plate.

What do you do with your judder spring
With the radius cx kit which I installed it comes out. You use rekluse pack so it's not needed if I remember correctly.

Our local dealer STILL doesn't have a replacement basket available after request 2 months ago for a local customer.
Is what it is - we bought a hinson - but what a pain!

Not sure who your dealer is but the recall parts are readily available. We've fixed all the units on the floor and taken care of all our customers. It was quick and easy.

Why and how can a major corporation like Honda still trying to figure out how clutches work ? This stuff has gone on one way or another for years. Crazy.

Could ask KTM why they can't figure out spokes since they tend to snap / come loose on every new KTM / HUSKY. Or Kawasaki why they can't figure out chain sliders that don't get chewed to hell after 3 hours, Yamaha...etc. etc.

All new engine for Honda, gonna be some growing pains just like first year new cars, etc. You can R&D for years and still find issues creep up once it's bought by consumers.

I've only had 2 Hondas and I'm easy on the clutch, but have never had an issue. Interesting, I'll keep an eye out on my new bike now thanks.

450 Honda clutches have been weak for a decade....Pretty well known that their 4 spring design was a joke.

At least it is an easy fix.

Normal fix

Remove judder springs
Remove first/small judder spring clutch plate
Replace with normal clutch plate
