I have a 2018 Crf250R and thinking about trading in on a 2019 Rmz450 that is a good deal. What’s everyone’s opinions. I want a 450 and the other brands are out of my budget and have always rode Suzuki’s.

If you want a 450 you know the answer.

Keep in mind the Honda 250 chassis is much more compliant in rough terrain, stock suspension is much better and will feel much lighter.

If I had the Suzuki 450, I’d rework the suspension and get Works Chassis Lab mounts right away.

Get it, don’t buy anything for it right away, break it in, set your sag, drop the forks

Save your money for a couple of months and make the other brands in your budget. You won't regret it. You will if you buy that yellow kick starter.

the 250 is all top end and the 450 all bottom-mid....so completely different beasts, i think you might struggle with the rmz

Stop flogging the mounts on everyone. Pathetic

You should put a disclaimer that you’re mates with the owner.

I actually have each bike. They are both great bikes. The 450 I put a Pro Circuit link on it and a pipe (FMF). The Honda is still stock (technically my wifes bike). I have always owned Suzuki's since 97, so I am very partial to the brand. The 450 has enough power for the majority of the world (my brother in law finished 11th in 25+ at Lorettas on my 450, and trust me, it wasnt the bikes fault). If you can afford to have both bikes at the same time, then buy the Suzuki and have fun on both bikes. If not, and you aren't racing all the time, I would say to just keep the Honda.

Ok, buy FCP mounts. Hahaha. They work really well, even tested some on the KTM 450.

It’s funny you disagree with my opinion on a part you’ve never tried SillyWhistling

I’ll add here for the reason behind my suggestion to get mounts for the RMz. The bike feel supppperrr stiff to me, not only the suspension but all the components. So with use of softer mounts it will help take the “edge” off when hitting small chatter, sharp bumps and slap down landings.

I just picked one up so was curious, I’m just a weekend warrior though only ride for fun. But I have been riding a long time. My bike previous to this was a 05 YZ250 and my last 450 was the 09 crf450 so I’m excited to try it out.

The suzukis are fantastic bikes, especially good bang for the buck if you are on a budget. The motor is very reliable and there are lots of good used parts available.

I wouldn't get too hung up on people selling you engine mounts and linkages right off the bat. Go ride the bikes dial it and then see what you need to upgrade
