Do share?

I already have a deposit down for the 1st one that shows up at my dealer since I'm about 99% sure it will be a copy version of the 450.

I have a 16 that I love, I rode my buddy's 17 450 and loved it aton, so if they take that to the 250 I'll be more than happy, e start is cool and all, but for another $650 plus install, I'll pass, I'm sure it will be an option similar to the 450. The YZ450F already is confirmed e-start for 18, seems to be the next thing amongst the manufacturers.

Loose lips within Honda lost jobs. They are keeping this one close for some reason

fullysicmate knows.... apparently its "Yes, it won't be as light or fast a ktm and wont be electric start either. I heard it looks good though." ....very insightful.

It will likely be based on the 17 450, as to whether its as light as a KTM or has EC as standard no one knows yet....mind you the '17 version is only 3 pounds heavier than a KTM, so not as though its a massive difference

Will 100% be based off the 17' 450R. E-start an optional extra possibly?

But it will have Japanese build quality. Something the KTM will never have.

2017 - all bikes weighed full of fuel and ready to ride. The numbers below are rounded to the nearest full number.

KTM: 229 lbs.
Husqvarna: 230 lbs.
Kawasaki: 230 lbs.
Honda: 232 lbs.
Yamaha: 233 lbs.
Suzuki: 234 lbs.

I don't want any more bikes out this early in the year, KTM have a 17, a 17.5 and soon their 18 all out in the first half of 17.

Look forward to seeing their 19 around December.

FYI,

KTM uses much higher quality metals in their bikes. It's not even debatable.

I can't knock Japanese engineering. But I wouldn't be knocking KTM build quality either.

Just mentioning the word 2 stroke is blasphemy at Honda, Kumamoto.

I agree. They are great bikes (I own one) but lacking in the motor, and the tac air forks.
There's a strong chance the forks will be addressed on the 18. I believe the motor will get some new power, but not on the level of the ktms/husky.
Personally, I'll wait for the 19.

Who knows if the new motor will actually be on par or better than the KTM/Husky and the Yamaha....lets wait and see before saying it wont.
