That team would have an autograph line all the way to the airport and back. 45 min moto's and it would be interesting

Come on Maverick, you're not fooling anyone...

I'm pretty confident that Zach, soon to be the 250MX champion has the confidence, fitness and skill to do better at the MXdN than Alessi could, especially considering his MXGP experience. 250MX champions have had a decent run on the 450 at MXdN for team USA (i.e.- Dungey and Webb). Not sure what Osbourne has done to give anyone the impression that he wouldn't wax someone like Alessi right now.

And I think Webb or Barcia, considering their past MXdN experience and their capacity to rise to the occasion in one off races would be a much better idea than picking someone like Alessi... I'd pick Seely and Peick over Alessi.

I believe they both turned pro right around the same time? There both very close to 30 yrs.old. Alessi has been a proven 450 (outdoor) rider pretty much his whole career. I may have missed the years Zach was a legit 450 guy. On 450's,I just dont believe Osbourne is head & shoulders above Alessi or Goerke for that matter.
Alessi rode the MXGP in Matterly in 2015 and struggled to score points in a 25 rider gate. I don't think he's a valuable option.

MXLarge: What is your take on riders not wanting to race for their nation? It’s been like that a few years now, and as you mentioned last year in Maggiora, it didn’t seem to matter, because whoever America send, they always lift their game and perform.

Covington: Personally, I think it’s ridiculous. If I was asked it wouldn’t matter if I raced the weekend before or the weekend after, I would be there. To hear guys don’t want to race, it’s disappointing.

MXLarge: When you talk about schedules, they said that Tomac did 29 races last year, but I am guessing you will do around the same this year or not?

Covington: This year I did a lot of pre-season races, also the Dutch championship and some Belgian races, so if you add it all together its around 30 races. I totally understand what Tomac is saying, that he doesn’t have much time off, and its right in the middle of testing for Monster Cup, but for me personally, I am just a really proud American, and I would really be honoured to represent the country.

Hang on a second, I didn't think anyone pussed out back in the 90's?

I thought everyone was wanting to be on the team back then. What is Ryno talking about?

You must have missed the part where I stated that both Dungey and Webb kicked ass on the 450 for the MXdN while racing 250s prior to racing the 450 class, and that Osbourne has MXGP experience. Savatgy is great in the 250s right now. Between Savatgy and Osbourne, I'd bet Osbourne fairs better on a 450.

And the Canadian nationals are a bit of a step down from the AMA nationals dude.
I didn't miss that part at all. Im just not sure why you believe Osbourne would be a good pick to be on a 450? Not sure what Osbourne has done (on a 450) that would give you the impression he's a good choice to be on the big bike? But,since all your looking for is a decent finish Dude, why not?

Osbourne rode a 450 in mxdn for Puerto r I o and I'm pretty sure it was at this same track of ast least I believe it was an English track (Donnington Park, sorry if that's not spelled right my English friends) and he was fast as shit on the big bike. I was likke who tf is that and low and behold it was zacko

I'm gonna go ahead and assume Barcia is out. With the team he's on and the uncertainty moving forward, a race in September is unlikely. If he's even healthy after that crash. It's already confirmed that Tomac, Baggett, and Anderson are out.

With that being said, go with:

MX1: Webb
MX2: Osborne
Open: Seely
This is most likely our team, unless Webb can't make it, then it seems like Peick should get the call. But then again... his wrist isn't exactly healed yet.

I would take Craig over Seely. I cant explain why, it's just a guy feeling that he could have a good finish. Hopefully Webb gets 100% healthy and races it. If we have Webb and Osborne I think we have a shot as long as the MX3 rider can finish top 10 or so.

So you don't want our 250 champ on the 250. You want JMart on the 250 who has struggled all year.

You want our 250 champ on a 450 which he has little experience.

I don't know where to go with this.

webb would have the 2018 by mxon right? if so his confidence will be reset, and his knee seems same as marvin and marvins healed by now so webb could be healthy and a good pick

MX1 Webb
MX2 Osborne
MX3 Jmart 450, i was impressed at daytona, or if not jmart flip a coin for plessinger/savatgy/cianciarulo on 450 lol its that bad or seely depending on the track lol

Because picking a rider from the 250 class is the least of our worries. We have Osborne, Jmart, Amart, Plessinger, Savatgy and Ciancarillo who would represent us very well. It's the 450 class where we run into a problem.

My pick would be:
1. Anderson
2. Osborne
3. Webb

If Anderson isn't available then:
1. Webb
2. Osborne
3. Barcia

If Webb and Anderson aren't available then:
1. Barcia
2. Osborne
3. Craig

If Barcia, Webb and Anderson aren't available then:
1. Craig
2. Osborne
3. Savatgy

Anything different than the above we will struggle to podium. It sucks that we have 3 potential obvious picks in barcia, Webb and Anderson possibly out due to injuries. It really sucks that we have a guy who isn't hurt and arguably the fastest in the world just sitting out because he doesn't feel like going.

Edit: somehow I forgot about Baggett. But I won't include him in on scenarios because we pretty much know he's out of it due to pending surgery.
Why would you pick Savatgy instead of A Martin?
Even with missing one race A Mart is still like 20 points in front. And Savatgy has proven to struggle under pressure.
Craig is a good pick for his starts. Starts are very important at that event

I know you like to argue with me but man are you special. Let me give you a lesson on MXdN. MX1 or MXGP is a 450 class. MX2 is a 250 class. Open class is whatever you want, normally another 450.
Jmart on a 450 because he was good at Daytona. Zach on a 250 in MX2 because he is killing it. Webb or Barcia in Open.

Where to go with this? Back under the rock.

Since Barcia is most likely out. I'll take Webb.

I do know this, whoever steps up and is willing to carry the flag for the US is going to gain a lot of fans. I would love to see the same team we sent last year go back and get some redemption. They had nothing to hang their heads about last year. They showed a lot of heart and I think it would be great to see them get another shot at it.

Plessinger getting surgery on his foot apparently. Someone said in a thread on here that Zacho and Seely on 450 and Covington on 250. Whether that's true or not I don't know but I can see it happening.

Tomac declined.
Baggett needs thumb surgery.

Who's the next U.S. rider in line? Seely.

Covington supposedly already on Puerto Rico's team.
