1. Anderson 450F 2. Osborne 250F 3. Webb or J Martin (open). If you have issue with Webb, see his IG post on the 2016 MXDN. If you have an issue with J Martin, see Daytona SX 450 main. The open choice rider needs to be healthy. Peick, CS14, Craig etc are not as fast. I'm disappointed in Tomac's choice.... in my opinion, the MXDN is the most important and my favorite race of the year.

Assuming he goes, let's make a bet. $50. Loser has to donate the money to a charity chosen by the winner. I'm saying Osborne gets the win in one of his motos.

Considering one is out with considerable injuries, and the other is not in form, that's not a great pick

I think I would choose;

MX2 Osborne
MXGP JMart
OPEN Savatgy (on a 250)

Savatgy's in a good vein of form and a 250 isn't at a massive disadvantage at Matterley Basin. I would expect at least one top ten result from him, if not two, and a top five is not out of the question. Same as Osborne.

That's a team capable of a podium.

Would of had Thomas Covington MX1 Darian Sanayei MX3 Marshal ...more

Mx1 Sanayei
Mx2 Covington
Mx3 Starling

That's Costa Rica team.

Matterley Bassin is a really fast and dirty track, no sand, cool jumps, long start .. a "B" USA team like last year could win easily.
For us (France) we don't know what will be the team, Musquin need a knee surgery, Febvre don't make really good results, Paulin certainly in Mx1, Mx2 Ferrandis I think, Mx3 ?

|

I would send. Barcia Osborne and Webb. I know both Barcia and Webb are injured at the moment but they should be good to go by then and I think that would be a good team of riders who want to be there.

I agree, not sure why Joey isn't getting more mentions. If Zacko is indeed going to have to step up to the 450, then there is not a better pick than Joey to ride mx2

1. MX1 - Osborne.

2. MX3 - Barcia or Seely (I would lean toward Justin if 100% healthy).

3. MX2 - Jeremy Martin.

That's still a very capable team. They can go to the race with a very good shot at the podium and perhaps the win.

I think the problem with Joey (though we'll know more over the next few races) is the extreme between his good and bad results. Jeremy may have a bad or so-so day, but he's less likely imo to have a truly awful day. With that said, going over the individual results there is good and bad with both...

Edit: I guess there isn't as much in it as I thought actually. Next few races will be interesting.

Osborne needs to stay on a 250. He's our fastest 250 rider, why mess that up?

For the 450s, get out a dart board or draw straws with whoever is left.

I say we skip the whole thing all together. They continue to push the event later and later. It's terrible for our riders schedule. 29 Rounds of racing with only 3 weekends off is a tiresome schedule. Throw in usgp, mec and SR and that's tons of commitment and wear and tear on the body. These guys need to some time off for themselves both physically and mentally. I don't blame any of them at all for not wanting to go.

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

I initially had Seely pencilled in for MXGP but talked myself out of choosing him. I think it's quite likely he will be picked though, especially with the support of Factory Honda.

I would happily pick Barcia but he'll be out of contract, as is Bogle, so there is a big question mark about whether either of them would be able to go. Peick is the another option of course, or even Matt Goerke! But when I weigh everything up I still tend to think the three best available 250 guys would be a better option. Zach will feel at home, JMart has experience of the MXdN and Savatgy has enough speed and grit to do well.

They could be very dangerous with less expectated of the team this year!

You obviously know nothing. It hasn't been pushed later and later. And the event has been taking place roughly the same time every year way before the monster cup was ever a thing. Usually it's between the last weekend of September to the first weekend of October. I'm not sure how much closer from year to year you expect.

|

8/2/2017 7:06 AM

So no Anderson now too? It's getting ridiculous now. Our top 3 US riders won't be there.

|

8/2/2017 7:08 AM

I'd put plessinger on a 450 before any other 250 rider
