I am in the market for either a 2017 KTM 250SX or Husky TC250 and was wondering what kinds of prices you guys have been paying for yours? Also can't decide which way to go. I imagine I will jus end up with whatever one I can get the best deal on. Any help would be much appreciated!

Just for comparison sake, my buddy just bought a 17 YZ250 for $6900 out the door. It was out of state, so no sales tax. MSRP is close on all 3 250s.

Between the KTM and Husky, I have the hots for the Husky more. And I really want to ride one of the new 17s.

Not sure. Most dealers aren't willing to deal much and want 8000 OTD.

$6900 for my 2017 TC250 with -1- hour on meter. No set-up(400),no 'freight'(400)....no tax as out of state...shipped was a transporter,,can find them on U-Ship.com for around 300 +- typically,,and delivered from across country.
Mine was sold at Lojaks http://www.lojaks.com/
They sell less than most without the extra charges I found at my local husky delaer who wanted $9200OTD.

Mine was sold locally to older fellow, and brought back for a 4 stroke model. The 1 hour was worth $900 off retail.

I enjoy the bike...first new one since 1985...
I almost bought a 17 SX250 from Orlando dealer for $7900 OTD,,but the Husky I think is nicer and has some better pieces and more unique. I waited a couple weeks to save hundreds and get the white bike.

In the same boat but curious what the changes for '18 will be. I know the changes will be minimal but hoping for them to polish up a few bits like the reeds and whatever small little things popped up this first year cycle. Do they still do rebates on these models? I bought my '14 with $1000 rebate and it was a killer deal at $6100 otd back then. With the popularity of these bikes I find it hard to believe any $1k off msrp deals will be had. Hopefully I'm wrong!

I think the recent MXA had some previews. The AER forks will get a few improvement,,different seal in air side,,different mid valve and 1 larger diameter shim on valve side I read...I'll maybe buy the '18 pieces and do upgrade myself when they come out.
The reed cage has been hot topic,,,I simply flat sanded mine and put the one fellows reeds on cage as seen on youtube. Can't say it was incredible improvement,,mine ran decent and started well to start with..even with gaps I saw. Sure it didn't hurt either.
I have the red spring at 2 turns in and it really comes on strong midrange with it. The yellow was 4 1/8 turns in stock on mine.
in 2-3 months the early releases will be coming out for 2018..time flies!

I got mine a bit above MSRP but the dealer (out of state) was just great to work with.
Got a written quote within 30 min, including trade-in on my FC450, with only pics for them to evaluate it (but the bike was very low hours, and tip top shape).
No BS, no "our policy does not allow me to give you a price over the phone or by e-mail" (I had some chosen words for that one).
And he took care of the delivery and trade pickup.

My experience with Florida dealers has been consistently disastrous. No reply to quote request, crazy fees, insulting trade-in value, Sales guy then Sales Manager circus.

The one I worked with even shared his computer screen where all costs were visible.

HVA are the hot ticket these days. Their sales increased 60% last year so I cannot think of any company who would be discounting something in demand.

But you might have a long time relationship with a dealer that will be able to figure out something and help with the price.

I finally sorted out the jetting (like most on 17 KT/HVA by now) and it's awesome. AER are top and really not a huge deal to check one extra pressure besides tires before a ride,
18 will get some tweaks but nothing outstanding.
I'd be glad to see an EFI version but I'm reading that $ is expected close to the thumper model. No thanks, it's already getting out of control ($10K now for a 450???)

If you're set on the TC, get it, you will not regret it, even at MSRP.
I have a buddy with the SX and while feeling a bit different it's also a great choice.

They are about $7800.00 here to if you can find one. I may wait for the 18' unless I can find a good deal on a 17' . later summer some time.

Yes 7800 is msrp...but what ticked me off with my local husqy dealer was the 400 set-up and 400 delivery to his shop...then another 200-300 title fee..and tax..

Lojaks in Pennsylvania is a high volume dirt bike shop. Family owned,,I bought through Ryan, owners son,..Owner was national champion off roader for years. They don't charge the other extras that my local Florida dealer wanted...Like mxstate's experience...I called and asked what he had,,he gave me a no BS price. like 7600 for new...or 7000 for the 1 hour consignment bike. I offered 6800 and he made a call and said 6900 was owners pay-off..fair enough. I wired the funds and called a transporter. a few weeks later it was in my driveway with bill of sale and signed title in envelope and factory book and odds ends...and a cool Lojaks shirt too!

They have a TC125 listed on site as inventory ( I really was struggling between 250 and 125)...but with there high volume...would be worth a call. KTM and Husky release bikes a little at a time...maybe a order coming soon. Also may have a low time one like mine for serious discount coming in for co-assignment again or trade-in. I can't say enough about the smooth purchase after the headaches shopping local dealers with there games.

Ended up getting a 2017 TC 250 last week for what it sounds like was a great deal. Paid $7650 OTD and couldn't be happier with it. Put 3 hours on it so far and it is far better than my 2015 250sx was.

Interesting. I partially liked my 2015 sx but went back to a yz. Been thinking about a husky.

The biggest thing that I feel is better are the new AER48 fork which is one of the best stock forks I have ridden. I would say it is on par with the SSS fork when I had a YZ250. The other thing I notice is the almost nonexistent vibration that this bike has in comparison to the 15. These were also my biggest complaints about my 250sx. Other things I have noticed is that the bike turns slightly better than the previous generation.

The motor on the other hand has been quite difficult to get jetted correct. I'm not the biggest fan of the new Mikuni carb because it is much more sensitive to both elevation and temperature than my last bike was. I have finally got the jetting to where it is pretty good but I am going to continue to play around with it. Putting VFORCE reeds in it helped get rid of most of jetting issues that I was experiencing.

Good deal!
There are numerous threads on jetting.
My first ride I took it to local track and 2 fellows with 250 2 strokes where dieing for a ride. One had a 15 tricked out YZ250,other a 2006 CR250 I believe. Both where impressed and the YZ fellow a little bummed out...had 12K in his,,,you name it, titanium and trick it was on or done to his,,I was more at home on mine,,and he was too..for 1/2 the investment.
The smooth no vibes was noticed !

Agreed, I have the sx but its a much better bike for me than my 13 sx or yz. Turns amazing, chassis feels great and less apt to try and spit me off and the vibration is gone. I think my old sx vibrated a little more than my old yz and now this 17 is smooth as butter. Got my jetting good but havent deviated much in elevation yet.

I was quoted $7400 otd from both Sun in Denver and Summit Motorsports in Bozeman. I am out of state from either, so of course no tax.

I am from Bozeman and purchased mine from Summit Motorsports and they didn't want to go any lower than $7650 on a TC 250 but were at $7550 on the 250sx. $7400 is a great deal on either though and you will be happy with either! The Summit guys are great to deal with and will take care of you after the sale too!

Ktm forks and jetting sucked. Had better power and clutch was nice. For me it was Yamaha I just couldn't deal with the ktm small issues. All 5 of my yz 250s have been bulletproof but I will be switching again soon.
