Anyone here ever ride the Sherco 300 2 stroke? If so, how does it compare to the likes of KTM and Husky?
Anyone have a reccomendation on which bike, KTM/Husky, Beta, Gas gas or Sherco is best for hard enduro type of riding?
Any experiences or insight would be awesome. Thanks!

We have all the above bikes in our group of riders. All agree the KTM/Husky is best for hard enduro.
The Sherco looks like sex on wheels though.

Beta was E3 (300 2 stroke) World champ 1st and 2nd last year.

Gas Gas is a brand new model and company, the jury is still out.
KTM/Husky is King Kong. with over 10 different types of off road championships, most small companies can't attend them all.
unless you have to be different there is no reason to buy anything other then a KTM. they are all good bikes...have good race results, good consumer reviews, and all of them are built and assembled to a very similar standard.
I have ridden the GG, and the Beta, and I can tell you (I have 2 TX300's, and have owned a handful of KTM 300/250's), there is nothing weird about them or anything. They all feel lightweight, have stout bottom-end response, conservative wheelbases, and for the most part, felt completely normal.
one thing to think about is parts supply. another thing is aftermarket support. KTM has a huge advantage here, even compared to Husky. I can't even get an aftermarket tank for my Husky. If it was KTM XC 300 there are no less then 7 options available for aftermarket tanks.
If I had to do it again, I would have just got the KTM instead of the Husky for better aftermarket support. My decision to go Husky was related to aesthetics.

the Jury is not out. its official, GAS GAS is a multi-time World Championship manufacturer, and very well respected. and I'm pretty sure their current chassis is at least 4 years old.
great post though...
Old mate just bought a new TM 144 EN. No one can get near him. The thing is a weapon!
they all work really well for that type of stuff. If you want a broader power output, the 250 is actually better- it revs further and more eagerly.
Personally, I like a very aggressive power curve, and i hate low-rpm chuggers. With KTM/Husky, there are the parts out there to tailor power delivery. On my TX 300 (any KTM 300), I re-cut the head and fiddle with cylinder mapping (by raising the cylinder and lowering the transfer port) and I'm using a 2013 SX 250 ignition. you loose almost everything great about the bottom end chug, but the gains in top-end are phenomenal.
Bit pricey though, the 144 was 11,800.00 AUD with no rego.
Gas Gas went Bankrupt and closed down. Torrot bought the name and tooling. It is an all new bike that has yet to arrive in dealers.

Anyway, you are living proof that PR really does work. GasGas has new owners. Thats it. And the bike is already out. Its essentially the same motorcycle, with new specs. Of course they're going to say its all new.
