Anyone know of a program to remap the 2017 and newer KTM's? I know you could use the user setting tool for the older ones, but what about the new ones? Am I just stuck buying a Vortex or GET ECU?

you can use the user setting tool still if you own it or shops who do have it can do that

It's not really that great of software however

I'm assuming you guys have been happy with twisted's remaps. Do they set it up for each bike based on your mods? or is it just a generic one tune fits all?

The biggest difference I found with the Twisted maps are the response from the throttle and the progressive nature of the power. The way the power comes on much more instant and usable then stock.

Also the freeness of the engine off throttle makes the suspension feel much more plush. My 350sxf doesn’t feel as tight our bound up when hitting square edge chop.

The plus of the Vortex are the options with the maps. They were able to give me 3 maps that are selectable with the map switch.

On a side note, has anyone ran anything higher octane than pump gas in their 350? At 14:1 compression I would think that there would be a noticeable difference. Especially with the clatter they make coming off idle.

Pump gas is a joke. They run incredibly well on it to be fair, but even a quality octane booster makes a noticeable difference. My 17 crf450 is 13.5 to 1, and it runs so much better on straight 100 octane

when in doubt, pin it out

Its odd because generally pumo gas has tested better than most fuels I have tried shy of specifically oxygenated/power oriented fuels. Now on a 450 at 13.5:1 i agree its right on the edge and little more octane can help however the 350 is very 250 like in design and I havent found improvement with octane

On that topic - the top dollar 4 stroke race fuels are “low octane”

In any case getting consistent pump gas is certainly a problem - and thats where I find the biggest improvement For some race fuels. The “tune” stays the same/consistent

Its truly an amazing feat the 450s are as high comp as they are without detonation

I was thinking more or less mixing 110 and premium pump gas. Every 350 I've heard as a tiny bit of spark knock under load when coming off idle. The 2016-up 350's have 14:1 compression stock.

What does Twisted charge for a remap on a KTM 350? Toko Mods does it for I think 98 bucks.
Thinking of sending it off to one of the two... stock ECU.

I’ve got a 2017 GET ECU for a 450 I’d get rid of for a good deal if you’re interested.

I saw that Tokyo Mods will remap for free if you buy a pipe from them. That seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Anyone have an opinion on who is doing better work? Toko vs Twisted?

I'm +1 for Twisted. I've worked with them directly at Glen Helen World Vets. One of the best mods I did.
