2017 Honda CRF450r MAP/ stop switch will not operate

Currently, I am unable to turn off my 450r because the switch will not work as designed. The same assembly has an engine map switch and that does not work either. I get no blinking lights, it won’t turn off. Nothing.

The only light I got was a single Orange blink when I put it in gear and stalled it to stop it. Any CRF owners out there with this issue? My current plan is to buy the whole assembly and install The new one. Unless someone has any insight.

Common problem they get water in them and stop working. Do a search lots of threads about this

Paging MXking.....
He added a complete different style one button kill switch to his bike because he was so fed up. He made a whole thread about it, I'm not sure what he did to substitute the map button though.

Mxking killed it with his.

I replaced mine with a new oem one and have since been careful while washing and haven't had any issues at all.

My dealer warned me about the water. I bought some quart baggies from the dollar store and I zip tie a bag around each mechanism (kill/map switch and e-start on throttle side) when I wash the bike to keep them dry and have yet to have any issues. Doesn’t help you fix it...but could help with the new one.

I smashed mine in a crash once and it started acting sketchy. replaced it for $30 and everything was fine.

Cover it with plastic when washing your bike. Mine shorted out mid-race and killed my engine just before I launched off a drop away jump. Could have been ugly!
I always kept a spare with me at the races after that, just in case. That was the second one that failed on me.
