2017 CRF450R W/16 STEERING DAMPER?

Does an earlier model steering damper help the newer Honda's in any way? I'm finding my 17 a little light in the steering feel and a bit unstable in fast rough sections. Any setup suggestions would b awesome to.

2008 CRF250 stabilizer bolted right up to my boys '17 450. I did however service it with much heavier oil. Very noticeable difference after switching oil weights.80 percent Rotella T 15/40 20 percent ATF (for the anti-foaming agents).Works like a charm. Assemble it submerged. And I agree with the light (stock) steering feel.

Also bolted mine on from my 15 but didn’t really feel a difference
