2017/18 KTM 250SX ignition map question.

Tech Section is jacked up right now.

On the new generation KTM and Husky 250s SX/TC there is a white plug under the tank that can be unplugged for a less aggressive ignition map/curve. Tried it yesterday and it really is a difference, in a good way for tighter slick tracks like I was riding yesterday. Really smooth.

My question is: Any reason adding a switch to replace the plug cause any problems? The plug is a pain. I know on low voltage circuits even splicing can cause to much resistance. I'm thinking it would be fine if the plug doesn't cause a problem nether would the switch.

A handlebar switch would be great too if I could find a durable one. Also wonder if it map could be changed on the fly?

Got any insight, Id appreciate it.

I think I got mine from Sicass racing, the handlebar switch that is. Yes you can change on the fly

Making it a handlebar switch like on the Hondas would have been a brilliant idea.

not sure on the 2t, but ktm sells the bar switch for the 4ts so it looks oem

Don't the 2018 TC250's come with that switch standard? I saw someone on here who just bought one and posted a photo of the switch. I've been waiting for the 2018 fiche to come out so I can see what they will cost and see how/if they can be plugged into the 2017.

Based on RMATVMC's fitment on that switch, showing that it fits 2017 250SX and showing the OEM # when you add to cart.

This will likely be the switch that will come on the 2018's when the fiche come out.

Hi, i'm new here. Does anyone have the problem with 250sx 2016 when map is unplugged for soft performance i can't start the bike? I have 300 cylinder(mark:72/6BR) and 300cdi.
