Has anyone drilled holes in their airbox covers for better air flow. Do you have any pictures of it?
The Shop
I used 3m adhesive spray to make it stick. I spray the plastic on the inside, and around the perimeter, lay the screen the I gave it a few more sprays on the corners. Haven't had any problems for the 25 hours it's been on the bike. Make sure you don't get any adhesive on the screen where the holes are open.
What is your application? MXA actually said positive things in the last issue about the more restrictive Husqvarna airbox's effect on the powerband compared to its KTM counterpart. They said it smoothed out the power.
If you ride on hard pack or similar slippery conditions keep in mind the impact on power delivery. If the hit is a problem after opening it add a flywheel weight, remap if that's on option or breakout the duct tape.
On flywheel weights they are a plus on both two and four strokes IMO.
My bike was being remapped on the dyno while we were testing this mod, I don't think it's nessicary tho.
I only did the left airbox and drilled out the battery tray where ever there was space.
The goal was to let it breath a little more not a lot more, too much air gave the bike an extra HP but the dyno curve was super funky and not smooth which mad the power fluctuate and pulse over the curve.
